This guy I'm dating (we like each other and we're only dating each other, but haven't made it official) is finishing grad school. I was thinking of getting him a watch, but I realize that's a little much given the current state of the relationship. Any other suggestions that aren't too girlfriendy?

If he's joining the work force, anything appropriate in connection with that might be good.

A nice celebration event might work well too, if you want to go light on the tangible gift. Or any gift that's related to having pure fun now that the pressure's off (G-rated or otherwise, which come to think of it is a comment that applies to the celebration event as well).
