why do they think they can put you through hell cause they are afraid of making a comitment but then three weeks and two girls later they think they can just come back and tell you they were wrong and they are ready to settle down and expect us to just be jumping for joy?

cuz they are jerks ALL of them! but hey its life...just dont let them come back into your life... be strong stay away from guys like that... im actually in that position but i let him come back... now 3 yrs down the road we are supposed to be married next month..and im having doubts again... i donno just part of life and growing up

Since you didn't indicate any age it's hard to answer. Young people under 20 are immature and don't always act appropriate because they just haven't learn how to do that. 20 to 30 people are experimenting with life and usually don't want to settle down with one person. After that they are try to regain the life they loved before they turned 20.
I've never understood why people need to OWN their boy/girl friend. I've always dated lots of different guys and told them that I would not be tied to just them. I never had a problem with that. I could go where I wanted with whom ever I wanted and just because I went out with a guy once or twice didn't mean I could not accept invitation from other people "without permission". I settled down to one guy later when I finally found someone who met my needs as a partner. It seems today if you talk to someone....then you become property.
A commitment comes when the time is right, don't give or EXPECT it until the chemistry is good. Have fun, settling down to one guy comes when you are looking for a permanent mate...when you are about 50.

I hear you, but you also need to understand that just becoz we feel committed, it is not necessary that they should too. He might be on a completely different pace or mindset about you or the relation. We can't force things on anyone. How would u feel if u had to make a quick decision about something u r not sure of yet. Wouldnt u rather things went slow instead of u being pressurized? Well, if he comes back, and if u truly love him, welcome him. Dont let ur ego come in, becoz ego destroys love. If that guy isn't worth it, then u don't have to accept him. Ask yourself....how worth it he is. And think with ur mind, not heart here.

Because he is insecure. I have dated a few guys that are always "looking for something better" then decide I was it and want to come back. It has a taken a long time to build the self esteem I needed to tell them no way but that is how I deal with them now. Be strong and move on.

Why do u say "guys" like all "guys" are the same? I can bring the same case where girls do the same or even worse, just bc u have a bad story doesnt mean the whole male population are bad ppl
