Religion was instituted by God so that we might learn about Him and experience Him personally with other believers. Where men have perverted God's teachings, religion becomes a scandal to the world.
But where religion remains true to what God is and what He teaches, religion is relevent AND necessary.

A lot of things we don't understand, simple things we try to complicate it. We do believe in ghost supernatural things we do not see. people who's existence her on earth brings destruction's & more killings are powerful. But how come when it comes to God. who only teaches His children to follows the Father's commandments, but we pretend to know God but live ours lives like there is no God. We all know God give us freedom to choose. Its a battle between good & evil. Look... Imagine if there is no good in this earth only evil exist? what will happen to us if you take away good. we will not even know what word LOVE is . Get the picture? Now its like a battle it's an invisible battle between good & evil. It is a spiritual battle. I know you experience it when a situation when you are to decide wheter you will lie or tell the truth, you will cheat or be honest.
Now religion...misrepresented God? Just like what i have wrote... simple things we make it complicated. The answer is the Bible because it's the word of God. But because of defrent enterpretation the teachings misleads & to the point it contradicts to each scripture. Many are called but only few are chosen. That's why Jesus uses parables so only those with pure heart, thirsty for truth in seeking the kingdom of God, will see the light into the paradise.

Yes, religion has misrepresented God; and you don't need religion to find Her (or Him). I'm not very good at explaining this, but God is everyone and everything. Your soul in a part of the Universal Soul (God). For more info, read the Conversations with God Trilogy by Neale Donald Walsch. They're amazing!

Oh deffinately. Take a good long ******* look at any high-stakes holy roller and they'll say he's all powerful and all knowing, past, present, future. He already knows what you're going to do before you do it ( =FATE ), but free-will exists? Doesn't make sense does it? You want to find God, go out into the countryside and take a look into a valley, perfection, no interference, natural harmony, that is God, a valley where everything is done for a reason. Not some ******* whacked out wizzed crack addict comming to your door telling you your going to hell if you don't follow MY religion! Go to a valley, look out in the sky, ground and everywhere else there, that is perfection, untainted perfection... God

Well you have said it might be possible to find God outside of religion! Your right look around at all that is made. Guess what God made everything you see before man ever touch it.
The sky,the earth, the stars, the sun, the birds, the trees, and everything you can see before man touched it God made including you. He formed us out of the dust of the ground that He had already made. He made us in His image and in His likeness. But we blew it we sinned. So God's plan for us was altered because of sin. We would of been doing alot better if we had not listened to that old devil. But because of our error we are where we are. And God had to send His only son to redeem us from the old devil's hand if we will only believe.
It is all so simple most people miss it. How about you? Are you going to miss it toO!!!

There is, possibly, a "First Cause", in other words a first thing that started the world going. Religions say that the "First Cause" is a god, in other words a complex, conscious being, smarter and more capable than any human being. They say that because they can't imagine that the compexities of the Universe were created without forethought that is beyond human capabilities.
We now know, however, that complex things can arise naturally from simpler things---evolution of species is the prime example of this, but there are numerous other examples---star and planet formation, snowflakes, the development of individual organisms. This opens the possibility that the "First Cause" was in fact something utterly simple, some physical phenomenon, possibly in the world of particle physics. The "First Cause" would not, then, be a conscious thing, and would not have any moral force as the original father figure. That's OK, because morality actually comes from ethics, which is to say, philosophy. (If you don't believe that, ask yourself how we know that slavery is wrong, and check your Bible.)

Krishna (God) is all powerful, but just like an ordinary boy he relishes sweet relationships with his mother and father, he plays with his friends and even carries them on his back, and he has sweet conjugal pastimes with Srimati Radharani and her girlfriends. The material world is a perverted reflection of the spiritual world so even in this material world we have such relationships. However most of the time our relationships are based on lust whereas the relationships enjoyed by Krishna are based on pure love. The only thing that comes close to love in the material world is the relationship between the mother and child. Otherwise this world is mostly a lusty place.

Religion is man's ineffectual way of trying to reach God. He provided a way to Him through His son, Jesus Christ. What God wants is a RELATIONSHIP with us...not to be some angry, never-pleaseable, stick-in-the-mud. Rules, limits, etc are religion. I am a Christian and hate religion. I follow several things that many might misinterpret as rules but it is not because I HAVE TO....it is rather because I WANT TO. You are saved if you believe that Jesus Christ is the true Son of God, died and shed his blood for us so that He is paying the blood that must be paid for our sins, and died for us. None of us is good. Sure we often can do good things but we are all prone to evil thoughts, deeds, etc and we all have sinned. For God to be just, fair, and still not violate His justice and righteousness, He HAD to have some way to still not agree with sin but He loves us SO MUCH that He was not willing that all of us should perish and die a terrible death for eternity!! So, that is where His only Son, Jesus Christ comes in. And yes God is all powerful but Jesus was the only part of God that was ever "man" or actually God wearing a "human shell" for lack of a better phrase. When He died for us, He no longer really needed that human shell and when He rose to Heaven, he kept the "look" of a human (as we are made in God's image) but is not limited (for even Jesus had a few limits when confined in the human body) to the fleshy shell anymore. It is the relationship God wants. The behaving better, and all that? That comes later. It will just make you WANT TO be a better person. But "Good People" do not get into heaven....none of us are good enough. People who believe that Jesus is the Son of God, died for us and shed His blood to pay for our sins, and that He rose again and is still risen and alive is what saves us and are the ones bound for Heaven. God loves us so much that He met us most of the way.

I think something along the lines of....
God made man in his image then men went around making god into their image and what they think he would have done or should be.
More to God(s) then what some book MEN put together says. But because he's a "mystery" men have to put something in those empty spots to make themselves feel better.
