Instead of allowing sin and sending billions upon billions of people to hell, why didn't God just kill the two people responsible for sin and start over with two new people?

Good question! God certainly had little scruples killing other biblical people, so why make exceptions for someone who explicitly disobeyed his will?

Essentially He did. When Noah arrived on the scene, a man of righteousness, God did just that. He wiped the seed of Adam and Eve off the face of the earth, except for Noah's family. Of course, being human, Noah's family went right back to the same thing and God has put up with us ever since. The thing about sin is this, the most perfect humans that ever lived besides Christ, when given the free choice, chose sin. How much better do you think we would fare if we were in their place? But now we are born sinners, and we sin, and Christ saves us, and God forgives. Had God just started over at the moment of the apple incident, it would have happened again anyway. We are creatures that cannot be told not to touch. We are creatures that learns by our mistakes, and there is something especially valuable about us in God's mind that accommodates our failing propensity.

What would have that proven? Remember, Adam and Eve disobeyed God because they believed Satan's lies. In the book of Genesis chapter 2 & 3, there will find that Satan challenged God's Sovereignty. He deceived Eve by telling her that by disobeying God, she will be like God herself. Satan also suggested He suggested that mankind would be better off governing themselves, deciding for themselves what was good and what was bad, instead of submitting to God’s direction. The Devil thus implied that God was a liar and that God’s way of ruling over mankind was unrighteous and oppressive! If God instanstly destroyed Adam and Eve right then and there.... how willl then the issue raised by Satan, God's enemy, about how men can govern themselves; can make their own decisions without considering God and be successful be proven either wrong or correct? God chose to allow sufficient time to settle this issue once and for all.

As offspring of Adam and Eve, our rebellious parents, can we truly say that Satan was right? That we can govern ourselves without God's help?

Human history have proved Satan wrong and the human generation of today continue to prove that Satan is wrong and a liar.

the issue is almost settled....and in a short period of time, Jehovah God will reward those who have proven his enemy wrong.

Because God probably thought that the guy that asked the question "Why didn't God just kill Adam and Eve and start over?" wouldn't do any better than they did.

Instead of killing them God killed an animal and clothed them.
It took the blood of an animal to cover their sin. Without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sins.

I agree with Lil Bro and God is a forgiving God. By forgiving Adam and Eve He knew He would have to send His Son Jesus Christ to take our sins away so that we may have a chance for eternal life.

If you followed the tenets of most Christian faiths, God is a caring and forgiving god. Just as you wouldn't kill your own child for erring, neither will God. God could have started over with Adam & Eve, or he could have not warned Noah as well, or even let the Israelites stay in Egypt and disappear from history. I must add that God so caring he sacrified His Son to expiate us of our sins. (John 3:16).

Okay,,now that was funny! My DH and I both laughed at that...I am sure you are not serious about this, or I would give you an answer....well, I will anyway, just in case you were....

God knew they would sin....he wanted them to realize how much they needed a Savior...that is what the whole Old Testament is about...Pointing them to Jesus as their Savior....God knew that man's mind is on sin, continuously,,,and they would never be able to live together in peace and harmony...we have more than proved him right..We all need a Savior....

The Jewish God wasn't a particularly clever God. He was the type who would try to hammer a square peg into a circle slot. Which is why he made from dust a carbon, rather than silicon based life-form. I would expect it never occurred to the dullard that he could even press the reset button.

Adam and Eve is a creation story, which in the simplest terms expresses the fall of mankind from grace. It explains why our lives are so hard, and why we have to choose between right and wrong. It is not meant to be taken as a literal occurance.
