Should the Kaaba be destroyed?

Question

Since Islam has for centuries made a point of desecrating the shrines of other faiths, should we return the favour? The Hagga Sophia was the home of the Christian church when it was turned into a mosque, as were the Jewish Temple Mount in jerusalem and the birthplace of Buddha in India. When members of the original faiths try to worship at the sites the Muslims riot and murder.

Since they all kneel and worship that big rock in Mecca, would it be a salutory message to the jihadists if we turned it into orbital gravel?

For the responders, thanks for the input. For the record, though, the first time I posted this question it was deleted by the brain police. Also, for the person who suggested other faiths built mosques on holy sites: I doubt it. Nonetheless such desecration does not justify its perpetuation.

Only the Muslims believe that was where the story of Isaac went down, so that is a moot point, and for the record I have read the Koran several times.

How about some discussion of how we can deal with a centuries old policy of desecration? If we don't blow up their rock, how can we get them to accept the rights of others to worship their own God?

The Jewish Temple mount was destroyed by romans a VERY long time in the past. How can you blame this on the people of a religion that never existed until 600 years later?

also, you should know that muslims arent the only ones that turned other places of worship into mosques, and it definatly wasnt done indecriminently. Even catholics did the same.

Sorry about the deletion. But, the Kaaba is purportedly the site where Abraham almost sacrificed his son, Isaac, in obedience to God. So, it has significance for the other two major religions as well. And they don't kneel and worship "that rock". They circle it and throw stones at it to drive out devils.
As a Catholic, I will light a candle and thank God you are not in charge of target selection.

If you knew anything about the holy book the Quran you would know it teaches Muslims to respect all faiths that follow a holy book including:

The Bible,

The Torah,

The Teachings of Buddhism.

The jihadists would just use this as proof that the US is the Great Satan. Why give them such a powerful recruiting tool? Use the effort to target them directly.

Try to remember that muslims are different from extremists. right now, their religion is in termoil, so let's just leave it at that and let them decide whether they would rather live peacefully with us christians or face annihilation by us.
