I am a confused college student, I'm 22, and have 69 hours (need 124 to graduate). I recently learned the lesson to live day to day. Albeit I am trying, I still worry about a few things. I was currently en route to receive a degree in Math/Education ( still had the math portion left). After a few months of thinking, I've realized that I cannot stand mathematics.

After the realization, I sought out to find what I was interested in, which is History. I've read there are a dime a dozen History teachers (I reside in Texas).

I don't know what to expect. My mother wants me to stay close to her because my father passed 12 years ago. She is also living with Breast Cancer. I don't think moving out of state is an option.

I'm interested in coffee, teaching (tutoring), history, food (I work at Chili's as an expo), and culture. I don't know where my life is headed, or what to expect. I don't want to setup false hopes.

Can anyone help me with some enlightenment?

You should be a writer.

Take Walter Dean Myers(a writer) for example, he was in a similar situation like you he went to a high school school that deals with mostly math and sciences(which he didn't like and it resulted him to stop going to school, but he sticked with what he liked most), he was also struggling, didnt know what to do, etc. but in the end he never gave up on pursuing his dreams which was to become a writer and he successfully became an outstanding writer today after remembering what his teacher said "Whatever you do don't stop writing", so you should think it over, break it down, and see what will be a good solution

To live with no ambition isn't hard, but it isn't very rewarding, either. If you like the food service industry, why not try making that your career? You could work toward being a chef or restaurant manager, or start your own business. Being a business-owner has it's own rewards and drawbacks, but it's an idea.

mate, you're only 22. Stop stressing out. Just work to pay the bills, and explore your options as you go. Eventually you'll find something to devote all your energies to. and if you dont? so long as you are reasonably happy, and live your life the right way, you should be satisfied with that.
Hope your mum is ok.

You're coming to internet for help? Here's my advice:
Take the history thing, who cares about the teachers? Let them teach you, and read Lies My Teacher Told Me. It's essential. Then read about history topics that interest you. And talk to your mom.
