Could of been. You were smart not to risk it. Even if they were innocent, I'm sure your wife would of let you have it when she walked out of the store and caught you cheesin' for the camera with 2 strange females...

I would have been suspicious too and told them no. Always follow your instincts. In this case I think you were right especially based on what you saw with the two guys a short time after.

I've just read all the answers and I agree that it was good for him to be cautious, but it is also kinda sad that people can not trust each other any more. Like if they had genuinely wanted a photo.

it was a good thing you told them to go away they were probably up to no good. i was at the mall a couple of weeks ago and saw 2 teenage girls asking older men for money telling them they needed money to get home. when they thought no one was looking i saw them take out a wad of cash from their pockets laughing at how much money they had gotten. i know it's not the same thing, but they too were up to no good.

definitely - you could have been mugged in seconds, i know my uncle was stopped and asked for deirections in France - and like were from Northen Ireland, he doesn't even look French - he told them were to go. You seem like a sensible person with your head screwed on the right way.

Sounds fishy to me. Good job you had your wits about you.

Its sad to say but you really do need to keep your guard up, there is no telling what might have happened.

Well done for going with your instincts.

It's good to be suspicious with such people. They might be pickpockets, they might want to use the photo to show to your wife and cause trouble for your marriage or use the photo to blackmail you.

It sure sounds very strange to me! I think you did the right thing there. They probably just saw you sitting yourself and thought you were an easy target. Count yourself lucky that you escaped them!
