Well don't pretend Christianity isn't a patriarchy.
Christianity clearly holds the husband as the ruler of his family.
Of course that being said, it also teaches the King should be the servant of the people. A ruler that does not listen to his people is considered foolish.

In the Christian faith men are suppose to be head of the house hold, but yes I guess they do encourage the men to talk things over with their wives before making a final decision.

This stems from a patriarchal basis in the Christian Religion, so really you can't get away from that kind of mentality.

My pastor says just the opposite: women should always listen to their husbands.

I dont see why a man would want to marry

and vise-versa
