How to treat chapped lips.

Instructions
Difficulty: Easy
Steps:

1) Step One Apply lip balm or petroleum jelly. You can also try coating your lips with skin moisturizer, vitamin E oil or aloe vera gel. These greasy products help keep your lips properly moisturized.

2) Step Two Use lip balm that contains sunblock if you are going to be outside.

3) Step Three Avoid licking your lips, since the saliva will evaporate and leave them dry.

4) Step Four Drink plenty of water to prevent dehydration.

5) Step Five Consider moistening the air in your home with a humidifier.

6) Step Six Keep in mind that cracks at the corners of your mouth can indicate riboflavin deficiencies; you can treat this with vitamin B-2 supplements.

Tips & Warnings
Before applying lipstick, dab on a very small amount of lip balm or petroleum jelly to give your lips a little moisture.
Severely cracked lips can become infected. Use over-the-counter antibiotic ointments to guard against this.
If symptoms persist or if you have specific medical conditions or concerns, we recommend you contact a physician. This information is not intended as a substitute for professional medical advice or treatment.

Lip balm and vaseline can work for sealing skin, but not necessarily moisturizing.
Try using fresh lemon juice mixed with sugar to form a scrub. You only need a couple teaspoons. Very gently massage onto lips. Rinse.
Apply a nice thick layer of honey and let this sit. Use often to remoisturize lips. Honey has antibacterial and moisturizing properties that make it an amazing natural remedy!

If your lips are badly chapped, just putting lip balm on once won't work. You need to heal your lips over time, and continue to keep them well. You should find a lip balm with added moisturizer, perferably with SPF protection too. Apply throughout the day, after meals, and before sleeping. You'll notice improvement after some time, refrain from picking at your lips also. [:

You do not drink enough water. Milk, juice, soda, tea, do not count. Your body is made of mostly water, it needs water. if you also suffer from frequent headaches water is often the thing your body craves, not the aspirin.
