Consider praying to be an extension of "Positive Mental Attitude". That's the only power that prayer holds.

Not if you haven't applied for it. Have you sent a resume? Did you put in an application?
Pray is nice, action is better. Apply for the position first, call to check up on your application, then pray for aid in getting the job.

You can pray for things, and if it is in Gods plan, God will grant it, you will never know until you pray, you have also got to realize God may have something better for you, but as long as you stay talking to God, you will be in good hands.
