the question is: can you win, do you have a decent case where the judge won't throw it out laughing?

the answer to the latter is no.

Well realistically everyone has their own belives as well as freedom of speech. So if you do ask a question & so to say receive a yucky answer you can't blame or sue the sender for his belives, opinions etc.On the other hand if you haven't asked for any sort of reply back with regards to religion it would however be considerable to lay a charge against the person who has sent the e-mail or take further legal action against the offender. However looking at the current status of our generation we shouldn't rule any answer out as,now morals have changed & so has the rules!!!

Yucky religious emails that you don't want aren't considered separate from other subjects of spam. You would only be able to sue if you were able to demonstrate harm was caused.

Betty,
You can sue anyone for anything... The question is, Can you WIN such a lawsuit. If it was me then I am truly sorry and beg your forgiveness. If not, then I suggest that you inform them that you are NOT interested in their religious material. It is rather easy to fix the mail so they can not email you again. I would be glad to assist if you need it. Have a wonderful evening and a glorious week!
Thanks,
Eds

no not successfully. the only successful lawsuit these days is if some guy is making love to your husband or something.
you can't sue america. you might as well make friends with the other rednecks and guido wops of the world so you have a fan base to draw from in times when the american legel system proves to you its as good as worthless.

No, unfortunately there is freedom of speech and freedom of religion in this wonderful country we live in, so if you don't like what they are sending, I think there is a way to block them or ban them so all other e-mail from them will go straight into the trash bin or spam box or whatever. That's about all ya can do I think.

Honestly I don't think so but if you have the time you need to spend in this kind of legal process go ahead, now what I can tell you is that you can start a legal process in the supreme court because someone is not respecting your rights either way for more details contact me at rene_papasote@yahoo.com

Maybe, but it seems just a tad...how can I put this nicely....petty and childish, I'm afraid. If you don't like the emails, block their address and delete everything they send you. But suing? That seems pretty extreme. Reminds me of a Victorian lady getting the vapours because someone said something crude. LOL

What about getting porn in your email? That bother you? If you are getting your mail on Yahoo..you can block those who are spamming you. No, you can't sue.

I don't think so. Just ask the person who sent it to you to stop sending religious emails if it offends you.
