When my daughter recently had Pink Eye, I dapped a wet washcloth on her eye, and somewhat massaged it. Then, she could open it up after a few minutes of doing that. If it is red-ish in color, then it is most likely Pink Eye. Don't let her touch her left eye, and if she opens it, don't make her use it a lot, such as for reading.

It's hard to say without being able to see it.
Is it shut with lots of sleep in it? She could have pink eye.

could be conjunctivitis. don't let her touch her eye area and then other things . make sure she washes her hands a lot.
she might have gotten something in there also. try a nice cold compress on it to help make it feel a bit better.

maybe she ate something she's allergic to. is she allergic to any animals like a cat? does she have a pillow that has feathers? These can cause swelling if allergic.
