When you see the word RELIGION what do you think of?

I saw someone just ask if religion should be taught in school and someone said they don't think Christianity should be taught because he's Jewish...does this person automatically assume "religion = Christian"??

My mind went blank with ?????
There's so many religions out there. I just read the Bible and let God show me the way and show me who to trust. I'll go to church to gain knowledge, but I'm also careful of what I believe. I trust my parents the most. If I have a question, I'll talk to my dad and anyone I without a doubt can trust. Some people practice religion right, but some too extreme. Don't get me wrong, I'm all about being moral and improving myself, but I don't appreciate when anyone gets the "Holier than thou" temperament with me. The true ones who are holier than me don't make me feel like a sinner doomed for hell. And they don't get self-righteous around me.

Um, actually, "religion" is taught in schools.
At about 11th grade I think, my history class spent some time talking about the difference between different religions, and some of their historical points, practices and beliefs.

I think of god. I am jewish. religion is optional and you can believe what you want and be which ever religion you want. Chirstianity is the biggest religion in the world so he probably just thought that.

But thats because I go there every sunday because I'm a Christian.
And by the way, what is all the hating going on here? Disease of the mind? Having a religion is a choice, no person or thing is making you do it.

my first thought is "LIE"
I know the word religion is used in the Bible in a good way but in today's world it has to many weird things attached to it.
Generally it reflects all of mans useless attempts to find God.
God has made himself known. We don't have to jump through hoops. He is hear now. Just open the door to the way. Jesus is the way.

I think of Jesus, but that's just because I'm Christian. He probably equates religion with Christianity because that is the dominant religion.

most people do associate religion with Christianity
after a year and a half on here , that much is obvious
which makes me wonder how many Atheists are Atheists or just Atheist to the Christian God
