What can I do? Please I need suggestions, besides animal shelters, helping out the elderly, library, day care.

How about adopting a highway or a park or a soccer field and cleaning it up? How about starting a recycling program? How about cookouts for raising money for our troops coming home or sending gifts for christmas or thanksgiving. Good Luck!!

You can donate your expertise -- if you are a web designer, then do a web site for a nonprofit. If you are a secretary, help a nonprofit organize their files. You need to decide what *kind* of service you want to provide, and then start marketing that service to nonprofits. Someone suggested VolunteerMatch.org already, and that's a great place to look for volunteering opportunities. The Online Volunteering service, www.onlinevolunteering.org, is a good resource too. But be ready to apply to many different places in order to find a service opportunity -- just like if you were looking for a job.

I don't know size city you live in but I would suggest that you contact the chamber of commerce and ask them about nonprofit organizations in your city or town. Organizations that could use your help might include food pantries, city clean-up, mentoring, soup kitchens, perhaps faith based organizations or ministries, etc. It sure would be nice to do a good deed while you work off your community service.

i am in charge of the community service projects for my church youth group. we do all kinds of stuff like go and help the elderly and sick in homes. we also clean streets and last fall we went to bay st. louis mississippi to help with the hurricane katrina relief
i also do community service with my 4-h group and habitat for humanity

try like a food bank, goodwill, find out who does picks up trash on the highway and do it... if your doin community service you cant be too picky...i mean u gotta get it done, right?

Food bank, volunteer in a hospital, maybe Goodwill has volunteer ideas.
