Do not drink underage! If you are of age, do not be coerced by some dopey kids into drinking, how dumb ... get some self-esteem up, blow these boys off, and you'll for sure leave them wanting more... good luck!

In many parts of the world, your current age would not be an issue. But then you would have grown up around other people who would have given you all the know-how to deal with this situation.

Basically, don't drink any drinks in succession less than 15 minutes apart. That way you'll have a handle on what it's doing to you, and when you feel something your first instinct is going to be to have more, but in this case that's probably not a very good thing to do. It will be a hard fight, so get ready for it. Also for every shot, drink a glass of water (yeah so a double means 2 glasses of water). There's a reason us old folks mix it with other stuff or laden it down with ice and go slow.

He could be doing this to get you in the sack. Be careful, there are vodkas out there that are intentionally made with more alcohol than others (like Smirnoff with a blue label). If it were just you and him when he had this "double-shot" and no other people around, you might be better off refusing.

Pretend you're smart. Even if you were of legal age to drink vodka is a drink to treat with caution. If he is giving you a double shot of straight vodka you will have to chug it down fast to get rid of it because it tastes AWFUL. And drinking that much that fast will most definitely get you if not drunk half way there. I am not telling you this just because you should not be drinking. It is the truth. And you should not be drinking.

You don't mention anything they are mixing it with so I am assuming these two boys you mention are just drinking straight vodka. If so they are both well on their way to being alcoholics and you don't need to join them. Vodka is not something you sip on because it tastes good.

I know you think everyone is being dopey telling you not to drink if you are not 21, but I can tell you even people who drink a fair amount would have a hard time drinking two shots of straight vodka.
Don't be pressured into drinking just to look cool.
Two shots of straight vodka will get you drunk.
Think about it before you do it!

If this star basketball player is worth your time he will like you without convincing you to drink. He is most likely interested in getting you into bed with him and then he will tell all of his buddies, ie the other ball players, about it. Please use your head and don't fall for his tricks. You will find a great guy who doesn't ask you to do things like drink when you aren't ready to. Seriously consider what I have said because I have been in that spot and made the wrong decision. You need to make the right one. That's why you ask questions right? So someone will help you make the right choice? Choose No Booze!

Learning to drink is not all it is cracked up to be. There are way to many problems with it. Parents, police, loss of control, becoming sick, becoming addicted, alcohol poisoning, drunk driving, and death from many of these. You can live to eighty or ninety years old. What's the rush to drink now? Drinking should be a social activity. Cocktails before dinner. At a party with a designated driver. Straight
vodka tastes awful. When you start drinking at least drink something that tastes good and doesn't burn your mouth.

You're about to make a big mistake. A double shot of vodka, for a first-time drinker, will definitely make you inebriated. If you do this on Thursday, you'll surely have a headache on Friday. And maybe a baby by August.

Probably not such a good idea, huh?

You shouldn't go out drinking with this guy, especially if it's your first time. Nothing good will come of it. You shouldn't be drinking at 16 anyway, but if you do end up drinking, take it veeeery easy. NEVER be pressured to drink more than you want to. Also, I wouldn't do a double shot as your first drink. You will most likely spit it back up. If you do get it down, that should be the only thing you drink that night. Anything more will be a downward spiral.

Let me tell you about my experience with vodka at 16. I drank it and got sick as a dog, almost went to the hospital, it was that bad. I was young at the time like you are now and not used to alcohol really. Vodka is some nasty stuff and unless you're already a hardcore alcohol drinker I wouldn't go near it. I'm telling you, DON'T do it.

At the time when soviet Russia tried to fight against Vodka it was usual to call it " the black spider " - There are still today in Russia children begging for their parent's spider -Think of this, and stop it - When I was young, I was in contact with many US students - nobody spoke about alkohol as I can read here everyday - seems that the spider is at work in the US as it was not before - take care
