I know i'm not a guy and this is directed to guys...but I hope this helps:

From my experience, the two of you just have to be on the same page.

Some relationships work fine when significant others are constantly calling or around, but both people have to be ok with the parameters of the relationship.

If he's not calling you all of the time, then he most likely doesn't want/need that from you.

Most people require at least some space, again, I think you have to be respectful of your significant others wants and needs. If you don't understand those needs and can't or don't want to deal with them, perhaps this relationship isn't the best for you.

It can get annoying if the g/f ALWAYS wants to be right on top of you all the time... there's a need for 'personal space' and to just be yourself - a g/f should be a companion and a partner - not a burden or an obligation.

Yes, it can be a bit ...overwhelming. It is mostly a sign of fear of losing. The basis of a relationship should be equality, friendship and respect. And this sounds like an unbalanced relationship. I don't rule out that he actually is an a..hole, though.

Anybody would find that annoying. People need space. Perhaps you are too clingy. Try to back off next time...you may have more success.

sometime, but i think that's expected when you have a gf, just to be the jealous or over protective type. that's annoying.
