It is really what you feel is comfortable, as you being Pakistani, your religion would be Muslim?
I would understand that it may be frowned upon to interact with different cultures by strong believers of your people, but what it comes down to is you have the right to choose in your own right who you interact with or be friends with.
As being English, forgive me for my ignorance if i offend.
I would think you already no the answer to the question you have asked, you may be influenced by others that would sway your opinion.

A good Indian friend of mine married a Pakistani. They have 4 children. The only way we will find a way to peace in this world is for all those of different races to accept each other.

I love developing friendships with others from other cultures/contries. I try to keep religion and politics out of all my friendships. Just be friends and enjoy doing fun things together.
Where you might have some problem(s) is when you are getting serious about dating the opposite sex. Families from other cultures have trouble with people outside of their race, religion, and culture. So you might want to avoid the headache.

ummm.... do what you feel like. We all have our prejudices. I wouldn't hate you simply cos you don't want to talk to Indians, and no one ideally should. But if the guy is ok, you could talk to him. It can't hurt, can it?
Are you sure
1> He's a "boy" and not a 40 year old?
2>he's indian? Some ppl just take on identities for fun. (Look at my avatar ;-) I am nowhere near as handsome as my avatar, though i can act like an ogre sometimes.

People in the west who live in cities with diverse cultures often have friends with varying backgrounds but their religions aren't important and we never talk about religion ... or politics. That's a friend-breaker, for sure.
Friends are special. Collect as many as you can.

I say be friends. But then again I am not tied to any religion with strick rules. I guess it depends on how much you are willing to stand up for what you believe in. Even if it means making your family mad. Be the one to break the closed minded cycle.

If you don't make friends with people of another religion, they will never understand your religion. Knowing people of other cultures makes the world a better, more understanding place.

I have a Christian friend and I'm cool with him...
Religion does not stop friendship.
Except if that person was like attacking your faith, then don't.
i even have a Hindu Malaysian friend and I'm starting to miss him coz I haven't seen him since he went to boarding school.
Remember, differences makes a person special and two people common.

I have friends from Pakistan, Africa of other Religions and we are all friends and respect each others religion.
All of us can learn many good things from one another. We are all God's children.
If anyone objects, just turn and walk away, you do not need those kind, because they are really not your friend..!!!
