oooh. I LOVE stuff like this. I think so. Just this Sunday I had a friend call and tell me what the reading was at church and she said don't forget to go to church before she hung up. I wasn't in a good mood already and when she said that I felt belligerent and contrary. So I wasn't going to go and then at the very last minute I did. Made it there late but did go. Half way through I go to stand up with the rest in our "response" and I just felt overwhelmed with love and was filled with happiness. My belligerent attitude was gone. Now where could that come from? God. The Holy Spirit. Without a doubt. Take it as such. Those are some of His blessings.

I would say this was the spirit working through you. God was working through you to sing that song something you would have never done nor could you have done it alone. Everything you do in the form of good is god guiding you. Stay in church that is the best place to be you will learn and know more as you learn the work of god as well as the word of god.

I know how you feel....when you are in HIS presence you cannot help but cry sometimes, but it is joy. I read most of the previous answers and it hurt so much that so many people have to give a thumbs down to each answer that supports the presence of GOD. And ~ thumbs up to "no GOD". Have they no other subject to comment on? I am so surprised by all the negativity towards GOD in this catagory.

That is the Holy Spirit. The Spirit of God had filled your heart with Love for Him, in other words, you were praising God and He in return Blessed you.

And most likely those who were there were Blessed as well.

If it was I'd ask him what the hell he's doing helping shy people sing instead of helping the thousands of people who were killed, murdered, raped, starved, tortured, beaten, demoralised, bullied and stricken today. Yes today that happened to thousands of people somewhere in the world. But no, he was helping you to over come your shyness.

I don't think I've ever heard such a fine example of complete delusional narcissism in my entire life.

Wake up and smell the roses girl.

This is a psychological issue, not spiritual. You are singing in a place where your mind senses you are accepted. You don't need to know anyone to understand that your beliefs are being accepted by others and you yourself are being accepted. That euphoric feeling of acceptance is identical to that of a "spiritual" sensation.

Yes, in my human opinion, God, more specifically, the Holy Spirit was "with you" at the time, for lack of better words.

Joh 14:16
And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;

Joh 14:26
But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

No.

You were just thinking more about singing, and the enjoyment of singing, rather than about the number of people watching you.

I am sure you may have had a connection with GOD somehow, but that is not the same thing as an act of GOD.

if you want/need that to be, there is no harm in thinking so.

it may have been you yourself that overcame your fear, but either way, it's something to celebrate.

If you do choose to think of your god as the prime motivator, remember the old saying as well: god could not make a Stratovarius violin without Stratovarius. Give yourself some credit, even if it's only a partial credit.
