The Bible says that "Jesus went about doing good...."

Yes, we should follow His example and follow the leading of the Holy Spirit. God is interested in people...........so loving and serving people will be a part of your life.

In fact, the kingdom of God will be your primary concern..............

Some people will tell you that "good Christians" go to church frequently, obey the 10 Commandments, follow all the rules and they'll get to heaven.

None of us - NONE - are "good Christians." Nobody, regardless of faith, is close to God's ideal. I think the main point of being a Christian is how you treat other people, not your church attendance or if you tithe or if you drink a little beer. If you do your best, trust God, and make amends where you see you've wronged someone, I think that is more important than simply following all the rules and being a "good Christian" by manmade standards.

I kind of feel like that term is a scape goat for a works oriented person and one who has no real back bone.

I can't brag about my being a "good Christian" I have fallen many, many times and had it not been for the grace of my Precious Lord I'd be in hell fires today! My goodness is only what God has done in me and that is the fruit of the cross and Jesus' shed blood. Praise His Name Forever!!!

i think this term is just used to try to exalt some christians over others, which isn't a very christian thing to do. all christians are flawed and all commit sins. i don't think there is a "good" christian or a "bad" christian. i think there are sincere christians and people who call themselves christians, but are really just hypocrites who are trying to be better than everyone else.

Yes I am. Why wouldn't you want to be a Good Christian?.. Jesus died for mine and your sins, and the way I see it, it's the least I can do. The Bible says, what you loose here on Earth, shall be loosed to you in Heaven. Which basically means, if you try your very best here, you'll be given the very best in Heaven. :]

No Christian is better than any other. How do you define "good" anyway? Are we good by God's standard? No, but because Jesus Christ stands in our place God sees us as he sees Jesus.
