What spell worked best for you and what was it meant to do..I'm not asking for details, I'm quite aware of how secretive some of you are.
And what's you're favourite, holiday/ritual?
I'm also not expecting a lot of answers considering Samhain is..tomorrow?

Hmmm...my favorite spell...is the Lost and Found spell. I use that one ALOT! It was orginally written by Raymond Buckland one of the forefathers of modern Wicca. It works really well and I am forever misplacing my keys!

I have several spells that I do, healing, protection and others. I do most of my spell work through the beading of jewelry. I make Witchs Ladder bracelets for healing for sick friends.

I am also working on creating a shield/protection bracelet. After finding a site where psychic vampires tell each other how to break down shields. (scary! I have but the link to this page below!)

My favorite Sabbat (holiday) is yes, Samhain (halloween as you know it). Its the final harvest of the year, and its also our New Year. Along with the time that the veil between the worlds are at their thinnest and we can communicate with our loved ones that have crossed to the other side. I still miss my Mom, even though she has been gone 28 years. And two years ago one of my dearest friends died of Pancratic Cancer.

Of course for my grandchildrens sake Halloween is fun, and I enjoy it for their sakes...we do have fun dressing up and trick or treating.

I do enjoy Yule (Dec. 21st - 23rd depending upon the position of the sun). I spend month hand making gifts to give.

Blessings,
Aviana

Q: Do Witches and Wiccans cast spells? A: Yes. Well, some do anyway. However, the term "spell" is widely misunderstood. Spells, are somewhat like prayers and are used to create needed change in one's own life or the life of a loved one. But while prayers are a petition to an external Deity to create the change, most Witches and Wiccans believe that Deity is present in everything, including ourselves. Spells, then, are the channeling of our own divine selves, our own energies, to create the change. Spells such as those which use love magic to gain the attention of a specific individual, or curses, are considered "manipulative". Most Wiccans believe that anything manipulative-that goes against the free will of another-is considered wrong. Many other pagan paths have similar codes of conduct based upon the tenets of their tradition or belief and almost all believe that the responsibility for their actions will lie with them.

Traditionally in the long ago past, Samhain and all the other Holidays, were celebrated ON the full moon and not on any "given calandar date" as is done now a days. So...Samhain was actually celebrated on the 26th for our group. As far as spell work? It all depends on what is going on at any given time. Mostly, I work with past life regression and and following spirit memory trails.
My spell work mostly consists of blessings for family and friends and for protection.

"Spells" are not a big part of all of our practices. I think "energy work" is more descriptive of what I do, which is generally to help improve some aspect of my life.

I don't have a "favorite" holiday, although I hold Samhain as the most important, as it is the transition from old year to new and from light half of the year to dark. Beltaine is the second most important as the transition from dark half to light.

I agree with Nightwind, it's more about energy to me.
But alway in an attempt to bring about good.
Never cast a evil spell. Or you will repaid by the 3 fold law

My favorite Sabbat is Ostara... The return of Spring!

I like guidence and protection spells personally...although other spells normally work well too. Samhain isn't nessicarily on Halloween...it's on different days according to the group your in or your beliefs.

i dont really have a favorite holiday. i like samhain because its like the equivalent importance of christmas to christians as it is to me. i can get very annoyed on samhain though because of the constant witch burning. (figurative) i like a lot of the rituals that require me to be with friends. mostly, i just like celebrating my holidays. winter solstice is easiest to celebrate though because of "christmas" break.

I am sorry. I am just so used to being attacked by fundies on here that I am not used to an honest to goodness question instead of a snide remark. I apologize.
