Its a question. It just doesn't make sence to me.
It would be strange to get personally attacked for asking the question.

"Seems" is a qualifying word. He "Seems" to me to not be good to the military and military personel. Why do you believe he is good to you?

Wowo a lot of untruths are being put out in response th this.... Let's quickly look at military pay. When clinton came to office a lot of enlisted personnel had familys getting food stamps because they were below the poverty level. THis was corrected while Clinton was in office. Military spendiong did go down during the Clinton Administration because that was the peace dividend that resulted from the fall of the Soviet Union. Now Bush goes to war with a military that was built up duuring the Clinton Administration. Wins the war, then uses screwy strategy and loses the occupation...Soldiers get hit with 3 and 4 deployments with little time at home. See Bush pay kbr tons of money for support services they used to perform, and of couse KBR does a bad job of it. The soldiers see their wounded comrades treated like crap by the VA (Cheney says 'the VA is just naother welfare scheme') now go ask the military guys what they think of him....Go ask someone you know is in the military not some chickenhawk who pretends.

It only seems that way to people who are not paying close attention to what he does.

Another thing you need to remember is that your political opinions do not equal 'being good' to the military nor do they equal respect.

It is his _job_ to send soldiers into harms way. Claiming that this is a 'lack of respect' is like saying that I did not respect my soldiers because I ordered them into combat situations.

The president does respect the people in the military. The reason that civilians do not see this respect is primarily because he does these things spontaneously and not because there is a camera around.

Are you aware that:

President Bush is the only President to visit soldiers in an active combat zone?

BTW - see the following links for some of the things that president Bush has done. As you should be able to notice there is a vast difference between how the media presents him and the way he really is.

The last link provides an example of what the troops really think about Hillary.

nice sources chris h. Whether any military personel likes him personally or not isn't the issue. The president is many things, and has many tasks. Chief of State, Chief Diplomat, Chief legislature, Chief Executive, and among the many things he is, he is also Commander in Chief. Look anywhere at any Military recruiting station, or processing station, you will see George W. Bush. Soldiers, Marines, Sailors, and Airmen are all taught to be loyal, honest, committed, and to follow the orders of your superiors whatever they may be. Who is more in authority than Commander in Chief?

'Seems' is the qualifying word in your question. Their are many who think Bush seems to be great for the military and he respects them. Of course, others differ in opinion, including many who serve, even in the current conflicts. If you're in the military, you have to obey orders, that is the rule. They have guidelines about how you can dissent with anything remotely concerning the military, and singling out individuals is against their code. A military person cannot rant out against Bush, they would most likely get discharged, and possibly court martialed. IMO, and I know a LOT of military people, most of them like Bush.

PRESIDENT George W. BUSH has done more for the US Military by giving raises and raising the standard of living in the military, provising the right equipment for the military, better medical and don't believe what the Bush haters and the News Media say. PRESIDENT BUSH has let the commanders in the field have the last say so in
battlefield positions.

My Friend you have it all wrong. Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter did more to hurt the Military than any of the last 6 Presidents. President Carter and President Clinton cut funds for the Military big time and President Clinton showed little respect for the Military. President Bush on the other hand has raised the Pay for the Military and increased the budget for the Military so our Troops can have the Best Equipment and training available. That's the Truth, but I welcome you to do your own research.

This venture you confer with of the Republican rule hiring inner maximum contractors isn't something new and did no longer initiate under President Bush's watch nor under Republican administration. This has been going when you consider that atleast invoice Clinton. together with his scaling lower back of the army throughout his presidency, we in the militia are left to paintings extra stable than if he had left the militia on the ranges it grew to become into whilst he took place of work. you assert no person needs to reenlist?! the place do you get your figures? From a similar place that many contributors of congress get their tips to skew issues to their way of thinking? My unit, by myself, has had a pair of dozen squaddies reenlist in the final six to eight months. that won't sound like lots to you, even nonetheless that's somewhat over 10 % of my unit. and a great number of extra are making plans on reenlisting as quickly as their contracts are up. the final public of those that reenlisted additionally did so understanding that doing so could exceptionally much rather assure a visit, if no longer a 2nd or 0.33 holiday, to the middle east for this "unwinnable" conflict, as some call it. additionally, the place to you get the thought that provider contributors ought to pay $a hundred do get their laundry carried out??? that's a provider presented via our government. have faith me, i know. they do no longer even ought to pay in the event that they do their very own laundry because of the fact the washers and dryers are no longer the coin operated machines. I advise you do extra examine the subsequent time you opt to spout off on the subject of the fee of the conflict when you consider which you do no longer accept as true with it. Get your info straight away. And as far as severe paid contractors/civilians working alongside provider contributors, that has occurred all alongside, only that now that's thrown available extra via those antagonistic to the conflict to get the first public swayed to their way of thinking.

Im a soldier currently in Iraq and I will have to say this. It's not that we all like bush it's that we have agreed upon the oath of enlistment that we will obey the orders of the president that are passed down to our officers in charge of us. So yea truth is feelings toward him are mixed. Plus to top it off if we do not like him we really don't have the right to express those feelings because he is the president and which he is the highest amongst our chain of command. I mean yes he gives us good raises and yes alot of us dont agree with being over here in Iraq but really theres nothin we can say or do about it because it is our job to just follow orders not question them.

When did he ever show disrespect for the military, He has shown more respect for the military people than the Democrats in Congress have. What President and First Lady said that they loathed the military and showed them total disrespect? ( Hint) Bill and Hillary Clinton.
