I tend to look at this as the cup is half-full. Sometimes, when a person views the glass is half empty, that is more a negative response vs. a positive outlook. A positive outlook/attitude is more productive than a negative one. Life is full of peaks and valleys. Once a person acknowledges this, the peaks and valleys can be easier to handle. Just my opinion & experience.

I take it you are talking about the popular optomism vs. pessimism debate...
I would say that it is good to be optimistic whenever you can, but there is a time and a place for many different modes of thinking. Many time, thinking with a "glass half empty" mentality is good. What about money? If you always think optimistically, you might not be inclined to save when you can.

thats an answer that only individuals can answer for themselves. For me its half full. I can't tell you how happy I am to have been blessed with this attitude. I can't imagine seeing the bad side of life all the time...I'm sure thats what leads to depression.
