Most people at one point or another in their life ask this question. I believe we all know the answer - even those that say that they don't care.
The brain, that little voice in your head, unfortunately runs most people. We define our life according to what we believe. For example, if you think that a situation is bad - it will be bad and the brain records it as such. When you recall this situation, you recall it as a bad experience. If, however, you look at what the situation will eventually do for you - make you stronger; get a new job; change direction; perhaps you may view it differently.
Also, time plays a role here - our perspective of it. Again here we tend to think of time passing slowly when things aren't going well and passing quickly when we are having fun. Time is completely irrelevent. The past is just how your brain records events and the future is just something your brain stresses or dreams about. You really live now - this second in time. It's all just one big now.
So, if you agree that time doesn't play a big role and that how you perceive life plays a large role, then you see how this can begin change your outlook. Life's joys and sorrows are events that pass when you view them in the context of eternity or now. You can become more detached and more aware of your reactions to events if you view them in context.
Just because you cannot see something doesn't negate its existence - for example, air or electriticity. As science develops they are finding more and more dimensions.
When you were born you had no language - you did not think with words - the little voice inside your head had not yet started talking. That person is still there - behind the words. Stop the voice inside your head and you will discover the answer to your question - you are more than your brain. We are here to learn and you have already chosen what it is you need to work on.
I'm glad to see you are asking questions - it will give you wisdom.

All the time...........I am a leukemia survivor and I often ask myself "Why am I not dead?" "What is my purpose for being alive?" I think to myself often that I may not ever find out what my purpose is exactly, but when my time is up, I will look back and know or God will let me know. I just try not to waste what I've been given and if that means not taking the safe route, then.......so be it.

No. I know why I am here. To worship ALLAH(SWT) in Islam and strive hard for Jinnah Insha ALLAH. I struggle being a Muslimah in the USA. Do I struggle with my decision for reverting to Islam? No. Second happiest day for me was becoming Muslim. First day was birth of my baby brother.

I dont think like that anymore and havent for a long time> I know who I am and why I am here. I know who God is and that HE loves me and will never let me go. I know who I am in Christ, and that we have the HOly Spirit to overcome all sin, not just count on grace to cover it all up. Jesus died that we may live and be overcomers, not still living in sin. GOD FORBID. I know that God has a specific purpose for me and I count it all as joy. I am to speak the good news of the gospel in full entirity to all who will hear, without fear or compromise. I am to live the truths of God as well as speak them. Gods given a specific calling to speak about what obedience is and that grace is given to empower us to overcome. WHen we obey God, as Jesus obeyed God, we will be perfected as saints and have the mind and excellent character of Jesus Christ. Till Jesus comes, I am to live in this natural world, speaking of the supernatural realm and all that God calls us to do. I speak till I no longer have breath, or when Jesus comes, whichever comes first. That is my purpose and my destiny is victory over sin and life with God forever and ever.
I count it all joy. I dont do this because it is safe. I serve God becasue He loves me and I love Him. Good works dont save anyone, but faith without works is nothing.
I love serving the Lord. I do count it as joy. There is nothing quite like it. love and faith uncondiionally. I pray all that read this will one day have that. Nothing on earth is worth losing out on Gods purpose and plan.
God is now giving me visions and dreams that tell more about these things and I jsut feel so blessed that God would use me, but then I thought, WHY NOT ME?
God bless all who are wiling to search, if you truly search, you will find... and all will be given to you. AMEN

I think everyone here does. They are all little bit confused as to why. That is the nature of Sat Chit Ananda. We are eternal, beings full of bliss and knowledge. That is why we ask and search for these things. But you won't find it in temporary things.

Baby-lon "is fallen, is fallen": Twice Fallen?
Babe-->(Child-->Man)-->(Perfect Man-->God)
Perhaps twice fallen requires twice risen to reconciled?
Fill in the blank, of the quest-i-on:
Be ye reconciled to ___?
a. Jesus b. Christ c. God
Reconciliation?
- first be reconciled unto thy brethren, then come
- reconciled = no more mediation or intercession
The "word of reconciliation"?
Grace: unto you from God & Son
Grace: is sufficient (no law req'd)
The GRACE of our Lord Jesus Christ with you all. Amen.
