regardless of the answer to that question, the fact remains that they choose to engage in homosexuality.

I believe that it is a spiritual thing that enters in a person. I believe that many people don't know 'when' they became gay, but I know what the Word of God says, and not the judge mental speaking here, but i think that it is not a choice per say, but an addiction, a lust. Because at a point in the beginning many felt that it 'wasn't right' but moved in to the actions of homosexuality.
I believe that it is a rebellious spirit that has taken hold of people. In the rebellion towards God they have a Rainbow flag, our rainbow was a promise that God would not flood the Earth again because of sin. So spiritually speaking I believe that it is something that is spiritual, against God, but they the homosexuals don't realize this because they an in the sin. -no disrespect intended

God does not make imperfect people.
Read: 1 Corinthians;6: 9-10, Romans: 1: 24-32, Jude: 1: 7-8.
Genesis: 19: 4-5. And then tell us if you are born gay.
All that participate in this activity will not inherit the Kingdom of God.
Those are not my words, but the word of God.

I know this will be wildly unpopular--I may get a record for thumbs down. I can't speak for the hundreds of thousands of gay people I've never met. But, as for the ones that I know personally--it seems to be a combination of some innate tendencies and some familial dysfunction or abuse issues.
I don't begrudge anyone who can find some love in this cold world, though.

Choice..... We all have the choice... Perversion and lust are the drivers.. Such a small percentage are gay but yet it is forced down everyone's throats through the extreemly liberal media... If there isn't someone that is gay on a show, then there is an actor who is gay portraying a straight person...Look, If you want to be gay, it is your choice, but let me try to help you find the true course..Jesus Christ..

An experiment done on fruit flys indicates genetics can have an effect on Sexuality.
I think the best summary is:
Certain genetics affect the likelyhood of "ending up homosexual".
Most people are born Asexual, they then develope sexuality as they mature.
So in all honesty I believe it is partly genetic and partly external influences during childhood. That goes for heterosexuality as much as homosexuality in my opinion.
I am not saying there is anything wrong with homosexuality but the "born like it" argument is based on an experiment of fruit flys done in the 80's.

There have been some interesting studies along this line. It was found that if the mother was domineering and the father passive, or not present, the likelihood of the child being gay was greatly increased.
It appears to be, for many, an environmental issue of causality.

CHOICE. At a certain age boys decide wether they like boys or girls. At first none of us liked girls. Remeber, "I'll boobies"? But at a certain age hormones started kicking in and we started having sexual urges. Whatever you've been exposed to in life and your evironement determines how your brain reacts to the hormones. Only hermaphodites are born gay by definition.

A very dear friend of mine who is a gay man once told me that it was the most idiotic thing ever to say that gay people choose to be gay. He said that if he had a choice he'd be straight because it's difficult being judged in every aspect of your life because of who you are attracted to.

Not a choice to be attracted to the same sex, but not born that way either. It's an illness of some sort. God did not intend for man to lay with man and woman to lay with woman.
As for choice, they do choose their behavior, as straight people choose their behavior as well. However, I find it hard to believe that anyone would to become attracted to the same gender, knowing that they risk ostracizing themselves from their families, that they risk discrimination on many planes, that they risk general ridicule, etc. Besides, it's yucky! X^P
Do people choose cancer? No, they don't. Do they choose schizophrenia? Certainly not. Do they choose homosexuality? No, they don't. Is it an illness? Yes, it is. Are they born that way? No, they're not. That is an abomination in the eyes of God, and He would never condemn a soul like that.

I personally believe that they aren't born that way because if they had no choice in the matter, God would not have condemmed it. I do not believe in gay bashing or treating them any different than anyone else. I just don't see anthing else in the Bible, except that it is condemmed by God. Since God is just, he would not condemm anyone for doing something they could not control.
