God is not causing the earthquakes, hurricanes, floods, droughts, and volcanic eruptions that are so often in today’s news. He is not using these to bring punishment on certain peoples. To a large extent, these are caused by natural forces that have been operating since the earth’s creation. The Bible foretold great earthquakes and food shortages for our day, but that does not mean that either God or Jesus is responsible for them, any more that a meteorologist is responsible for the weather that he forecasts. Because these are occurring along with all the other things foretold in the composite sign of the conclusion of this system of things, they are part of the evidence that the blessings of God’s Kingdom are near.-Luke 21: 11, 31.

Humans often bear heavy responsibility for harm done. In what way? Even when given ample warning, many people refuse to get out of the danger area or fail to take needed precautions.-Proverbs 22:3; compare Matthew 24:37-39.

So, if a country isn't suffering from natural disasters currently, then God loves that country?I could list about 50 nations that are not plagued with any current disasters and they are not all Christian nations or, in some cases, not even nations that have an official or unofficial national religion. So, what God really loves is when fundies don't have all the control that they are seizing in the US.Stop it, you fundamentalists!God is punishing us because of you! *rolls eyes*

Does God condemn the good with the evil? Are only Americans worthy of this "condemnation from God?"

Have you not read what Christ said?

These things are just the beginning of sorrows, and they strike all mankind, even as the fist plagues of Egypt stuck the Egyptians as well as those of Israel.

Don't be so American centered. The world has always been a place of suffering and always will be. Of course all suffering is the result of sinful activities but God himself does not come to punish. The world is created in such a way that every action you perform comes back to you. Karma my friend.

Pissing off the Middle East and not taking terror warnings seriously, global warming, and a drought that's been in California as long as I've been alive not to mention irresponsible people who play with fire.

When are you gonna wake up?

Oh please get off your soap box and do something real to help during time of distress. Get your head out of the sand. It has nothing to do with sins it has to do with not preparing for disasters in some causes and misfortune in another. As long as we are being a good person I think we can feel pretty safe. That isnt religion talking its common sense.

Maybe when the missiles start coming.... I don't know that we're being judged so much as warned at this point.

amen brother...add in the devastation that has taken place on other countries, the moral decline of our society...so many factors. Folks think that pointing out other countries disasters nulifies the judgment argument...

it actually strengthens it.

yes! after all, in no other era of human history were there... (gasp!) natural disasters of any sort! At no other time were there acts of war/violence!

This is the first time it's ever happened, so let's suurender to an evil mind control scheme NOW, while there's still time!

I just love it how people can use genuine tragedy for their own sick agendas.
