I Have Decided Sung By Amy Grant
I have decided,
I'm gonna live like a believer,
Turn my back on the deceiver,
I'm gonna live what I believe.
I have decided,
Being good is just a fable,
I just can't 'cause I'm not able.
I'm gonna leave it to the Lord.
There's a wealth of things that I profess,
I said that I believed,
But deep inside I never changed;
I guess I'd been deceived.
'Cause a voice inside kept telling me,
That I'd change by and by,
But the Spirit made it clear to me,
That kind of life's a lie.
I have decided,
I'm gonna live like a believer,
Turn my back on the deciver,
I'm gonna live what I believe.
I have decided,
Being good is just a fable,
I just can't 'cause I'm not able.
I'm gonna leave it to the Lord.
So forget the game of being good,
And your self-righteous pain.
'Cause the only good inside your heart
Is the good that Jesus brings.
And when the world begins to see you change,
Don't expect them to applaud.
Just keep your eyes on Him and tell yourself,
I've become the work of God.
I have decided,
I'm gonna live like a believer,
Turn my back on the deceiver,
I'm gonna live what I believe.
I have decided,
Being good is just a fable,
I just can't 'cause I'm not able.
I'm gonna leave it to the Lord.
I have decided,
I'm gonna live like a believer,
Turn my back on the deceiver,
I'm gonna live what I believe.
I have decided,
Being good is just a fable,
I just can't 'cause I'm not able.
I'm gonna leave it to the Lord.
I have decided,
I'm gonna live like a believer,
Turn my back on the deceiver,
I'm gonna live what I believe.

I prefer the song mentioned by Michael P.
So often today in Christian music, we must use caution. BEcuse so many sing of failture, just never cutting it and seeminly giving the impression we are still of a fallen sin nature and will just never arrive thats all false.
When you are born again, you receive a new nature, with the nature of Christ. 1 John 3:9 says that those born of God cannot sin, meaning deliberately sin. Grace does not cover willful, deliberate continued sin. GOD FORBID. Grace is to empower us thru the Spirit to be overcomers, and be fully obedient as Jesus was obedient to the Father.
This song says they wanted to change and didnt. It denies the power of God to change all who truly seek God and are willing to love and obey as He commands.
Once you realize what you are in Christ, you will note that certain old favorite songs no longer work for you.
Jesus never fails, and if we obey , we wont fail either, as we are allowing God to work thru us because we are obedient. Obedience still leads to blessing, and disobedience still leads to curse. Thats not OT nonsense. WE are under a new covenatn far better than the old one. and in it, there is no license to continue to walk in sin and count on grace. God forbid. Look for songs that tell you who you are in Christ and you will see the joy it brings, as well as understanding the new message. We hve been given a new nature, as a new creation. we are made like Christ, thru obedience.
Now I call that something to celebrate.
I have deceided to follow Jesus, no turning back, no turning back. Thanks Michael P. God bless all who truly search for God. Seek and you will find.....

I loved your words, but this is the song you reminded me of...

I Have Decided To Follow Jesus

Lyrics by "Third Day"

I have decided to follow Jesus
I have decided to follow Jesus
I have decided to follow Jesus

No Turning back, No Turning back

The cross befront me
The world behind me

The cross befront me
The world behind me

No Turning back, No Turning back
No Turning back, No Turning back
No Turning back, No Turning back

No one goes with me
Still I will follow

No one goes with me
Still I will follow

No Turning back, No Turning back
No Turning back, No Turning back
No Turning back, No Turning back

I love to sing this song ;-)

I do remember the song you meant. I have heard it.

I love the words...

"I have decided,
I'm gonna live like a believer,
Turn my back on the deceiver,
I'm gonna live what I believe."

...awesome !!!

If IT'S CRAP, FLUSH IT.
Objective is NOT to believe: Mt24...1Jn4.
Biblical Objective IS to know: John 8:32

"Able" ministers minister grace, and not law:
2Cor 3, so ye(do err) may be "able": Eph 3,6.

The GRACE of our Lord Jesus Christ with you all. Amen.

No but I do "live what I believe" and it has nothing to do with your choice of gods
