I am a Christian, and I don't have a problem with it at all. To be honest, I would probably balk at going to a church with a gay pastor or priest. Not sure how I justify that, I just know I wouldn't.

The institution of marriage is set up to bring new life into the world into a loving, stable environment. Divorce is very destructive to this in that people aren't able to get over their own selfishness in order to work things out and therefore, break up the family and make the children suffer for it. Homosexuality is a very selfish type of relationship too in that there is no "fruit" to the relationship and the couple can do what they whim without the responsibility that should come with it. The same arguement for birth control exists. It comes down to having the party on someone elses dime and leaving the mess behind for someone else to clean up. Those lifestyles are all selfish and selfishness is detrimental to society and an open invitation for corruption on all levels.

I don't think there's anything wrong with homosexuality. People keep saying it's unnatural but I think it's natural. Homosexuals are a minority, but that doesn't make them unnatural. African-Americans are a minority, but they're not "unnatural." Natural by its very definition states "Existing in or caused by nature; not made or caused by humankind." Being gay isn't a choice. It's scientifically proven that homosexuality is genetic and not a decision. See the source I posted below. As far as religion goes, I'm Jewish and the Torah condemns homosexuality as well. I am a reform Jew, which is very liberal (I'm a liberal as well.) and open minded. G-d wouldn't create gays and lesbians if he thought homosexuality was wrong. We're all G-d's children and in his image, right? Homosexuality has nothing to do with pedophilia and necrophilia or any paraphilia like that. Pedophilia is actually a mental disorder--a fact that the American Psychiatry Association has believed since 1968. Pedophilia and homosexuality both deal with gene abnormalities, but they're both very different. I have ADHD, which is a result of irregular genetic or brain chemistry. Autism is also a result of genetic abnormalities, but it's very different from ADHD. That's like saying a snake is basically a mouse because they're both animals. Homosexuality has been observed in many species. As far as homosexual parents goes, I don't think a mother and father is necessary to raise a healthy child. Supportive, attentive, and responsible parents that know what they're doing are. Also, homosexuals can have children via a sperm or egg donor. So yes, they can have children, but not in the "conventional" way (conception via sexual intercourse).

I don't see anything wrong with homosexuality. It can never be detrimental to society and why is that?
By the way, why did you address your question to Christians only? What about the rest of the religious sects in this living world, don't you want to know their opinions, too?

The detriment to society is a result of the mental condition acquired by the ones who choose homosexuality as a lifestyle. They become perverse in thinking and behaviour. The mind is altered psychologically and spiritually. The individual is not aware of the alteration, and few others can discern it, as you have to know what you are looking for.
And those who condone such behavior in others are unaware of the alteration, blinding themselves to what is otherwise obvious to others.
Theirs in not a natural affection, and there is actually a great hatred that develops in them for those who do not accept their lifestyle. They claim they want 'equal rights and protection under the law' when in fact they want so much more. They want others to be tolerant of their lifestyle while being intolerant of others who do not accept their lifestyle. Anyone who criticizes them is quickly and severely attacked verbally, and if possible, beyond verbally.
I have worked with those who were and are gay, and have observed all this personally. There is no natural love in them, let alone the sort of love that comes by way of God's Spirit.

Honestly, I think we NEED homosexuality (first and foremost your sexual orientation is no ones business) But anyway, we NEED it because this planet is wayyyy over populated. We consume more resources than we have available. I would say that MOST babies are not planned. And they were made because someone felt the urge to merge so to speak. With homos, you can merge all you want and it won't create a child. Not everyone should be homo, and not everyone should be hetero. I'm thinking that our lifestyle on Earth has necessitated the need for homosexuality. (Though it has been here as long as heterosexuality) But does seem to be coming out more. Maybe it's more acceptable now and that;s what it's coming out more. But maybe it is because we need to start changing our ways. Just a thought.

Well I don't fear homosexuality, and I don't think my sisters and brothers fear it either, I personally find no evidence in the Word of God that backs that life style, we can sit and dissect the Bible from cover to cover and all the passages are against it. It is UN natural,

Consider your own hero's theory. IF the theory of natural selection is true, how much longer before all homosexuals are extinct? for we all know there is no way for them to reproduce. But to answer your question, do you enjoy having your children if you have any coming home from school and telling you , so and so, has two moms or two dads can I have them too?

its not that we as christians fear two people of the same sex loving each other, quite the contrary we view it as a disobedience to God's word... i.e 1 cor 6:9 or 1 Gen 26-28
These show that God planned marriage to be between man and woman. Of course you can sin in the heterosexual way to by not being married to a partner that you've had sex with..but that is for another question another time

It is not fear it is just wrong to have sex outside marriage. Marriage is between a man and a woman and so same sex relationships are out. I am not going to give the Biblical Quotation someone else will do it sooner or later. Perversion is always detrimental to society whatever form it takes including sex with animals

The real fear is that open homosexuality would not allow priests and to some degree married men to carry on with other men under the veil of secrecy. As long as it is something people are ashamed of doing , then they can freely practice it with other like minded men that will also protect their secret. Once it is condoned by society, they lose that privilege as they can be 'outed' with little consequence from the accuser..
