Sounds to me more like you loathe yourself and blame somebody else for it. It's not his fault some of the people claiming to follow his teachings do heinous s--t in his name. Stop confusing the medium with the message. You might feel a little less angry and hate yourself a little less. But you call it whatever you want. I call it not taking responsibility for your self and blaming somebody else for it. Hope it all works out for you. Best of luck.

I suppose slightly, but I had become used to being disillusioned by then. I had the idea that adults were omniscient, as children do, (I wonder where they get such an idea.) but I saw even my teachers make bad blunders. I cannot be very angry at anyone who does not exist, however, so my anger was directed toward my preacher grandfather and other relatives who tried to brainwash me with such nonsense.

I never hated Christ, or loathed him in any way. As a matter of fact, I actually had a harder time emotionally letting go of "Jesus" than I did of "God." (I know that sounds weird.)
When it first started to occur to me that belief in God was myth, I was scared. (That's what you're programmed to feel when you or anyone else questions your beliefs. It's religion's self-preservation technique to drill the idea into your mind that any questions or doubt was a serious affront to God and will send you straight to Hell to be tortured for all of eternity.)
I got over it, though.

Nope... I can't feel anger toward something I do not believe exists...
Maybe your anger is directed at what you see as lost years in parochial school rather than anger at a fictional deity.. You should explore this anger and find it's real source then you can work to eliminate it as anger only hurts the one who's angry...

Jesus was a man and nothing more. I'm not angry at him. He had absolutely nothing to with the machine that is Christianity today. Be angry at the people who created the monster, not one's the monsters use in their plight.

Don't be angry. Sure the Church has done some messed up stuff but now your on he right path. So I would work at letting it go being angry only hurts you not the person/object you are angry at.
Atheist.

My first thought was "thank Christ for that!" Then I saw the irony, and went to the lavatory in my trousers with laughter.

Chill out dude. It's not that important. Give it time, you'll realize that something you DON'T believe in isn't that big a deal in your life. I'm not any more pissed at Christ than I am at Mohammed, or Santa Clause.

It's best not to hold a grudge against a man who lived 2000 years ago.

No, I was relieved. I was free of the idea that I HAD to believe a certain way because my parents told me to and that any other options were unthinkable. I was miserable back then.
