HMmmmmm......I've read the bible and saw no mention of Halloween in there. Did you take your meds today?

Now for some truth...Halloween is a childrens holiday, which actually has several orgins. Some say it was started by a guy named Guy Fawkes in england who attempted to blow up the British Parliment building.

Others say it goes back to old customs of the Celtic peoples called Beggers night, were the children would dress up and go from house to house mumming or asking for a 'soul cake" or a coin for the queen and a coin for the king.

In Mexico Halloween is known as the Day of the Dead. Where passed family members are remembered.

There are actually too many tales of customs that started our modern Halloween to list here. But now I will talk of the celtic celebration of Samhain.

Much like the Mexican Day of the Dead celebration, the celts spent Samhain in similiar ways. This was the final harvest of the year, so they busied themselves with perseving the food stores for winter. Any food left in the fields after Samhain was considered bad as the Puca would taint it.

They would hold a festival with a bonfire and eat and drink and be merry. It was also considered the last night of the year so divination would be done to find out what the new year would be like.

It was a holy night, but they also considred it a night in which the veil between the worlds of the living and the dead was the thinnest and so they could contact their loved ones on the other side.

Today it is celebrated by Wiccans much the same way. We do not believe in Satan, or a devil. WE know evil is in the heart of every person. And we take personal responsiblity for our actions, we do not blame it on another deity.

You are very mistaken in saying so. It obvious you do not know what you are talking about.

Your really should do some study before you malign anothers religion. Or talk about a subject you know nothing about. I hope my post helps you understand more.

Blessings,
Aviana

Halloween is a mixture of traditions previous down from one era to the subsequent. some from the Roman's Pomona Day, to Celtic's competition of Samhain, even the Christain holiday trips All Souls Day and All Saints Day. All Saints Day is the place we coined the call Halloween. Halloween (and its older term Hallowe'en) is shortned from All-Hallow-even, that's the day in the previous "All Hallows' Day" additionally favourite as "All Saints' Day." Ironicly the dates those are celebreated on isn't October 31, yet incredibly a era between might thirteenth to November 1st. The day we get October thirty first comes from the date of harvest for the Celtics. yet why do many Christians refuse to rejoice this holliday and deprive thier little ones of a time-lasting reminiscence or trick-or-treating? lack of information perhaps? i'm a chirstian yet discover others who issolate themselves and there families from such issues in basic terms harms them in the long-term.

Did you know... Halloween is not evil... it originated from a pagan ritual having to do with the end of the harvest season. A celebration of the successful harvest and beginning of a new year. Originally called Samhain, also meaning November. Over the years it has been changed by many cultures INCLUDING Christianity in order to integrate the pagans into the NEWLY accepted religion of Catholicism.

Luke 10:18
And He said to them, "I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven."

There are two ways of looking at Halloween. Sure, from a Christian
perspective it's not especially great to have the kidlets dressing up as
the devil and whatnot. On the other hand, look at it from the devil's
perspective. You revolted against God and fell from heaven in this
primordial struggle against God Almighty Himself. In your titanic pride you
had high hopes of establishing yourself supreme in the universe. You
committed your greatest act of terrorism against God when you convinced His
own precious Adam and Eve to revolt against Him. You brought death
into the human race and you thought you had it made when God, as it
appeared to you, insanely chose to become human. On Good Friday you finally
had Him in your hand and you killed Him with all the savagery your
fallen angelic mind could invent. And now, for two thousand years, you've
been watching your revolt crumble as the Risen One turned all your
schemes into life for your victims and mockery for you. Now, so far from
ruling the universe, your face is on some stupid mask worn by a
6-year-old and the creatures you hoped to destroy are writing meditations
like this one to pull your pointy nose and remind you that the Christ you
killed has defeated you utterly.

Memo to Satan: Happy Halloween, loser!

For me Halloween is referred to as "Samhain". One of the most sacred of holidays for the Wiccan religion.

With the rise of Christianity, Samhain was changed to Hallowmas, or All Saints' Day, to commemorate the souls of the blessed dead who had been canonized that year, so the night before became popularly known as Halloween, All Hallows Eve, or Hollantide. November 2nd became All Souls Day, when prayers were to be offered to the souls of all who the departed and those who were waiting in Purgatory for entry into Heaven. Throughout the centuries, pagan and Christian beliefs intertwine in a gallimaufry of celebrations from Oct 31st through November 5th, all of which appear both to challenge the ascendancy of the dark and to revel in its mystery.

Most of the people who celebrate Halloween don't even believe in Satan, let alone worship him. It's only evil in the minds of the ignorant.

Please tell us where the Bible speaks of Halloween.

Halloween is only evil if it is treated as evil like Hell Night that was begun in Detroit.

It has never been a celebration of Satan.

It's mentioned by name in the bible? Halloween originated as "All-hallows Eve" where evil spirits were driven away from God-fearing people. Now it's just a candy--costume maker's dream - as well as the dentists. If you look for it, you can find evil in anything you want to - just as you can find the good.
Give me chapter and verse, and then I'll consider it. I am a Christian, and I love Halloween - just for the fun and treats.
Please, please, lighten up! There are already way to many things that are genuinely fearful.

I hope you feel better.....but again....I don't believe in God.... for me Halloween is a fun night.

I have read the Bible twice and there is no mention of Halloween.

Also there are many many people who do believe in God and still have fun on Halloween.

I think you need to read the Bible.
