Why is it such a problem for you if the car in front of you comes to a sudden stop? Are you following too closely? Is your speed excessive for a parking lot? If you slow down and maintain a sensible following distance, then you won't need "ninja like reflexes" to deal with other drivers' activities. If you driving among parking spots then you should be prepared for the possibility that other motorists might decide to park.

Once again I agree with you. The person's race has nothing to do with it nor type of car. I've noticed that those who own nicer cars, park them far away from the rest or do the ignorant thing and park over the lines taking up 2 spaces! The backing into a parking space b/c it's "easier" or whatever is total BS. It is not easier and causes other problems like you mentioned. I've been hit and nearly been hit dozens of other times b/c some jerk backed into the space beside me, instead of pulling in correctly. The ONLY exception to the rule is if you can pull through, otherwise, pull in the right way.

Nope, I feel it is better to pull out of a spot instead of back out.
I don't normally back into a space, especially if its a busy parking lot.
And, if you need to "slam on the brakes" that means you are TOO CLOSE to the car in front of you.

I am sorry, but there is nothing wrong with people who back into parking spaces. I do it. Other people do it.
I just saw your last comment and it is so silly. People of a minority race do not do this any more than a white person. I agree with the last person who posted -- there are far more things going on in the world than people backing into a parking space. It's one thing to be annoyed by it, but you sound downright upset. Get a life.
Also, what kind of car do you drive? Why are you so fixated on that? If people want to show off their cars, then that's their business. If they are that simple-minded then they look like fools, not you, so why worry about it?

There are much worse things going on our society than people who back into their parking spots. Your minority race comment marks you as a rude sort yourself. Perhaps you should concentrate on your own bothersome maneuvers rather than worrying about what minority has taken a whole ten seconds out of your day to LEGALLY back into a parking spot.

I find it annoying and I don't understand why people do it. It makes it harder to get to the trunk to stash your purchases and it is not safer than backing out of the spot.
I just don't understand - anyone here who does it explain the rational behind it?
I do not agree that any "certain minority race" does it more than others. Nitwits come in all shapes, colors, and sizes...

Many things in this world irk me more than that. My husband does it all the time. He has a 1997 Ford and is an avid Glasgow Celtic fan in "this country", so I guess he is a minority race who likes showing off his car.

I also disagree. I worked for the telephone company for many years and all of our field technicians were required to back into parking spots. Why you ask? Safety. It is much safer to back into a confined area such as a parking spot than to back out into a lane of traffic. I usually try to signal the person behind me that I am stopping. I also try to pull through to the next spot so I don't have to back in.

I disagree. Sometimes people will back into a parking place so they can exit easier after completing their shopping.
Yet, common courtesy should prevail and I can understand your vexation in that department.

Adapt to the situation and stop whining. I don't understand why people do it, it doesn't save time or anything, but people will do what they do. Adapt or buy a bicycle.
