...I strayed! lol....I've been going to the same woman for a few years- I love what she does, but wanted a bit of a change...I truly prefer my original stylist (what is the PC term now anyway?) and have made an appointment to return....there is no getting past the fact that I went to a different salon as I am now a brunette (was blonde)

whats the best way to handle this?

she shouldn't be upset, i don't get pissy over things like that. i realize sometimes things happen and its a spur of the moment thing or it could be on my day off. if she seems upset shes not very professional and you have no obligation to explain yourself.

If you wanted a change, they why didn't you just tell that to your stylist?

My wife has been doing hair for 35+ years and owns a salon, and spends a lot of time, money and effort in education and training every year. She is constantly looking for new...different...upbeat...something that says "WOW" for her customers to try. Heck we all get tired of the same old thing. So why isn't your stylist doing this...ask her.

My wife has customers from pre-teens to seniors and when she comes back from a "hair show", her customers are waiting to see what she's bringing back for them to try...but that's something she "created" in the mood/feeling of the salon. No old farts here!

Well, I think hair stylists should expect clients to try others & be glad when a client returns.

It's not realistic to expect clients to be 100% loyal. After all, people shop at different stores, eat at different restaurants, even see a different doctor if their own is completely booked.

I'd go to the appointment & just casually say something like "Oh I went w/ a friend & decided to try something new." or "I was curious about my friend's recommendation." Then let it drop.

It's not what you do it's how you do it. It's not a good thing to have too many differerent people doing your hair. Everyone uses different chemicals, jumping from chemical to chemical can cause bad damage to your hair. Find a good stylist and stick with that one.

Yes hairstylists get upset, it's a very competitive career. Atleast your not going to the same salon! lol!!

who cares if ur hair stylist is mad or not. its ur hair and you have the right to go to who ever you want. and if they wine tell them to suck it up and get over it because you still prefer their services anyway. or u could just say i went with friends as a girls day kinda thing or they was refered to by a friend who's hair u really liked
