I've heard of, and seem to remember reading for myself, a bible passage in which Jesus says that all the old ways and laws (which amounts to the old testament) are no longer valid. But I am not enough of a biblical scholar to find it for myself.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Colossians 2:13
And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;
14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;
15 And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.
16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:
17 Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.

Yes I can. Its stated at least twice in the New Testament.

The 613 laws of Moses were cancelled when Jesus died on the cross.

To help you become a Biblical Scholar, I won't give you the answer, but I'll give you three hints:

1. The name of the books: One starts with the letter, "C".

2. The other book starts with the letter, "E".

3. The statement is made in the same numbered chapter of each book.

Maybe 2 Corinthians chapter 3? This was Paul the Apostle not Jesus though

6 He has enabled us to be ministers of his new covenant. This is a covenant not of written laws, but of the Spirit. The old written covenant ends in death; but under the new covenant, the Spirit gives life.

The Glory of the New Covenant

7 The old way,[b] with laws etched in stone, led to death, though it began with such glory that the people of Israel could not bear to look at Moses’ face. For his face shone with the glory of God, even though the brightness was already fading away. 8 Shouldn’t we expect far greater glory under the new way, now that the Holy Spirit is giving life? 9 If the old way, which brings condemnation, was glorious, how much more glorious is the new way, which makes us right with God! 10 In fact, that first glory was not glorious at all compared with the overwhelming glory of the new way. 11 So if the old way, which has been replaced, was glorious, how much more glorious is the new, which remains forever!

That is not from The Bible... Christ never said that... Christ did indeed fulfill "The Law" but He did not "void it... some of the "laws" given to The Nation of Israel were made no longer binding as far as bing required to be followed for attaining Salvation... The Way to Heaven has always w=been through Christ... but now since The Church was commissioned, The Way is not found by following The Law... Only The Way... which is Jesus The Christ.... a bit complicated to explain... and imposable to explain to one not open to The Leading of God... I do not mean just ones of The Church, but ones who are honestly seeking to understand... even on who is not of The Church may be led by God if they are honestly seeking...

But no... Christ did not "void" The Law.

I think it was on of those ones where they tried to trick him into saying they were no longer valid. Try Mathew 5:17 where he says "do not think i have come to abolish the law or prophets, but to fulfill it" perhaps by fulfilling the old laws meant they were finished and no longer necessary

On the contrary, Jesus said that he DID NOT come to abolish the old law

Matthew 5
17"Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. 18I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished. 19Anyone who breaks one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. 20For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven.

Become a Biblical scholar!

I'm very serious! why would you go on believing what others tell you it says? That is really a foolish road to follow. Don't do it!

Go now, pick up the Bible, turn to the back where, hopefully, you will find a list of words with ch. and vrs. where you can look this up.
Do it! Do it now!

there is no actual cite script for that saying but more than likely an interpretation of what he did say to some priest men..."that he is the Law" and that through him the old law was abolished. I guess since he was fulfilling all the commandments.
