I just find it absurd when a wealthy individual rants about how unfairly he's treated.

Obviously I'm refering to Christians, but they're not the only ones. Other religious people and ethnic minorities apply as well.

Say what?

Harassment at work is unfair treatment.
Physical, verbal, psychological or sexual abuse anywhere is unfair treatment
Being constantly belittled is unfair treatment

Fairness has nothing to do with salary. I make very little money but I have a good, satisfying job. No one could pay me enough to do some of the demeaning things required of some actors and celebs. Or indeed, their well-paid personal secretaries and assistants who get treated like servants "because they're well paid."

Fair treatment has nothing to do with religious choice in 98% of cases, either.

It's fairly difficult to make an argument that you're being persecuted when you have the freedom to say anything you like and when your belief system has undeniably been given preferential treatment by the government.

It seems that we are comparing apples to oranges. Money has nothing to do with persecution. In fact, the dictionary definition for the word "persecute",

according to Webster's New American Dictionary:

to harrass or oppress, particularly because of differences in religion.

Wikipedia defines the word as:

1.) to pursue with harassing or oppressive treatment, esp. because of religion, race, or beliefs; harass persistently. 2. to annoy or trouble persistently.

The American Heritage Dictionary's definition is:

1.) To oppress or harass with ill-treatment, especially because of race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or beliefs. 2.) To annoy persistently; bother.

The Miriam-Webster On-Line Dictionary defines "persecute" as:

1.) to harass or punish in a manner designed to injure, grieve, or afflict; specifically : to cause to suffer because of belief 2.) to annoy with persistent or urgent approaches (as attacks, pleas, or importunities)

and the Kernerman English Multilingual Dictionary (Beta Version) defines the word as:

to make (someone) suffer, especially because of their opinions or beliefs

There is no correlation between money and persecution.

I also love the "white males" have it sooo hard now! They are the "new" minority and are being persecuted.

Blah...whatever. Spend a week with breasts and see how different life is when it comes to being treatly differently simply for having a vagina. (I'm not even tackling try being a different ethnicity...I think that would seriously cause them some mental harm to experience how that truly is.)

Anyone who makes the minimum wage has no basis for complaining about being persecuted. If they want persecution, have them go live and work in sweat shops for WalMart and the Gap.

I don't take anyone who lives in the UK seriously when they say they are persecuted.

But where does the person's money go? They may have heavy financial obligations or a very taxing illness. That is the unknown factor. You can't race to assume as you seem to do.

Annual income does not have anything to do with it. And people are still risking their lives today to save souls for the Lord Most High, God of the Bible
