You haven't stated what your major is. Have you met with anyone at NC State in your major department? They would be the people that would be most familiar with both schools and could tell you the selling points about NC State. If you are planning on graduate school, it would be interesting to compare placement rates. Also, compare placement rates for employers. Which employers regularly come on campus to interview students for placement in jobs?

A college education is a big investment in money and time. It will affect the course of your life. Make sure that you graduate from an institution that you will be proud of, since you will carry that for the rest of your life.

Good Luck!

Show him the facts about the school and the program. Give him some stats about the ratio of students to teacher and whatever kind of information you can compare to NCS's program as opposed to the other schools program. It's true, sometimes just because the price is higher doesn't mean it's a better school. Especially if you're going for a program that they're not big into. You could even try to contact a teacher or counselor from NCS to talk to your father or give you some extra info that might be more convincing. Good luck.

Tell him that the difference in price is because one is a state sponsored school, where your hard earned tax dollars are used to run it. The other is a private school that does not benefit from your hard earned tax dollars, and so they charge an incredible price for education.

Tell him that for your major, you would be getting a 50% reduction for better education. Provide him with the data.

Aren't you 18, though? Why do you have to convince him?

One advantage to Junior College is you can get the classes that are really hard for you out of the way, they usually offer easier versions of the basic classes. I had fits with English and the Junior College has a film English class that was a breeze. It satisfied the requirement at the University for me.

Make a good argument. Get the facts and figure and figures to back up your statements and emphasize that it's better all around decision being both cheaper and more reputable.

A cheaper one is better than an expencive one?
Might be your opinion, but to be honst almost in every country the more expencive school the better education.

Find some websites or something to convince him. How'd you know that cheaper school is better? Find the source and show your dad, good luck, i know how stubborn parents can be. Your an adult and you know what you want, :) but he pays for it.
