Do they realize there ARE Christians in countries who experience REAL persecution. They are beaten, raped, killed or forced out of the country?

In America Christians can assemble, pray, worship, raise funds, form private organisations etc. Even though America was never founded as a "Christian nation" by our founding fathers. See source

There was a Christian bias in public policy in the past but we now know that in order to ensure freedom of speech, freedom of worship and liberty and justice for all, we cannot force the values of ONE religion or one branch or church of one religion on EVEYRONE else. It is part of perfecting our democracy and living up to the Constitution which is there to protect the minority as well as the majority.

Yet some Christians call this persecution. But is it REALLY persecution or just losing a popularity contest in the public arena?

And in ANY case, why should Christians WANT to be popular? Doesn't their bible say true Christians NEVER are?

How can the majority be persecuted by the minority?
It is simply a persecution complex.

Because they were given the keys to the kingdom in the USA and they squandered it on worshiping mammon and turning away from the teaching of JC. Now that other groups are demanding equal time, they, much like the pharisees of old, claim that they are being persecuted at the same time they work to oppress others. Also, because they have been in charge since the beginning of the this country, the problems that they see in our culture developed and grow under their watch, which is something they can never admit to themselves.

More than 90% of our Presidents have been White Anglo Saxon Protestants......and they claim that they have no say in this country for their religion......hmmmm......

I am a Christian and I don't believe our faith has any business in school or politics. Christianity is a choice that each individual must make for themselves. God gave us free choice and so should government and the school system. Would I like Christianity in the government and school? Well, yes because that is what I believe to be true and right, however, not all people believe what I believe. I don't believe we are being persecuted in the USA. I do believe we are being persecuted on this YA site though. The statements that some non believers make toward us are totally persecuting us. I don't know why people think they can say the things they do about other peoples belief. I don't mean disagreeing - that is totally ok. I am talking about name calling and degrading our God that we love. That is totally wrong.

chirstains may be being persucued a little bit through media and things like that. You can't say they didn't have it somming then.they think taht everything they do is right becasue there pastor told them it was or God told them.. they funny thing is that God mostly seems to say what they want him to say. i used to be Christain until i realized how stuck up and full of crap they were. one expanpme is that when harry potter was really popluar our pastor had gotten an emial talking about how it was satinic and JKrowling wanted death on us all and how in the book they said that chirstains are weak. then i read the books and the only thing i have ever read that was anitchristain was Voldemort saying stuff. and he's bad so that doesn't count. then reciently i was looking up stuff and i found a person callling out the person taht wrote the emial saying taht all her infomation as form a tablod thing on the internet. some of the stuff on there was exatcly what my pastor said. So pretty much Christains judge without knowing anything they don't even try. and you can pray outside to God my old school used to do it. Wiccans got made fun of or largely ingored and Muslims had to go to a difrent room. I don't think that it's right that people are trying to get rid of christan things out of everything, but they are not replaing it with muslim or wiccan sybmols. And the bringing down christains to be fair to all the other religons is just the same as bringing downs white to be fair to the minorites.

They scream persecution because they're not getting their way in the government. They mistakenly believe that this country was founded as a "Christian nation" and believe that they are entitled to run the show. When they see that there are more open-minded, accepting, intelligent, and culturally aware people that make the laws and run the government, they scream persecution. Then they start bashing every group that they don't like--gays, pagans, muslims, feminists, etc.

They scream persecution because they want attention, whether or not they want to admit it. Actions speak louder than words.

They need to feel like they are being heard. I truly feel sorry for those that are being persecuted.

I have a friend who lives in Syria. She is in constant fear of being found out to NOT be practicing Muslim. That is the ONLY religion they are allowed to practice. Anything else is illegal. Last year her college roommate disappeared. No one knows what happened to her. She just never came back to the room. She was a Christian in hiding.

Yes, it really bothers me to hear Christians in this country claim persecution when I hear about stonings of their brothers and sisters in other countries. And yes...stonings are still done today my friends. In small villiages in Syria, Saudi Arabia and Afganistan. There are places in this world, where you have no choice of what religion you can practice, where being a Christians could get you killed.

So before you cry persecution...learn about your brothen in other countries. Learn what they risk for their beliefs. At least you will never die for yours.

Blessings,
Aviana

It's the Victim game. By calling themselves persecuted, it allows them to do things supposedly in self-defense. Islamic terrorists are doing the same thing now. Before the war they kept talking about all the evil things america does, but none of them would actually say what those things were. In the eyes of a victim, by not allowing them to preach in school, they are being persecuted.

Not Christian... can't really say whether or not it's right or wrong of them to cry persecution in America...

But I will say, it's right to have the freedom of religion and the separation of church and state

I don't care what you source says,,,this statement is wrong..

"Even though America was never founded as a "Christian nation" by our founding fathers". See source

Recently, many authors have debated whether or not the United States of America was founded as a Christian nation. I wish to provide a few historical quotes from our Founding Era that lend credence to the supposition that we indeed were founded as a Christian nation.

Granted, God is not mentioned in the Constitution, but He is mentioned in every major document leading up to the final wording of the Constitution. For example, Connecticut is still known as the "Constitution State" because its colonial constitution was used as a model for the United States Constitution. Its first words were: "For as much as it has pleased the almighty God by the wise disposition of His Divine Providence…"

Most of the fifty-five Founding Fathers who worked on the Constitution were members of orthodox Christian churches and many were even evangelical Christians. The first official act in the First Continental Congress was to open in Christian prayer, which ended in these words: "...the merits of Jesus Christ, Thy Son, our Savior. Amen". Sounds Christian to me.

Ben Franklin, at the Constitutional Convention, said: "...God governs in the affairs of men. And if a sparrow cannot fall to the ground without His notice is it probable that an empire can rise without His aid?"

John Adams stated so eloquently during this period of time that; "The general principles on which the fathers achieved Independence were ... the general principles of Christianity ... I will avow that I then believed, and now believe, that the general principles of Christianity are as etemal and immutable as the existence and attributes of God."

Now go and read my source...

Christians want to be the only ones persecuting, and demand not to be persecuted themselves. Old story that never changed.
