Pro-Life vs. Pro-Choice is a question that will eventually tear down our society. The word Pro-Choice is misleading, what choice does the unborn child have?
A fetus is an unborn baby. And a baby, no matter how deformed or retarded, has a right to life -- a right that trumps all other moral considerations.
The following is a quote from Mother Teresa
"It is a poverty to decide that a child must die so that you may live as you wish."
Abortion, is a war against the child, a direct killing of the innocent child, murder by the mother herself. And if we accept that a mother can kill even her own child, how can we tell other people not to kill one another?
By abortion, the mother does not learn to love, but kills even her own child to solve her problems. And, by abortion, that father is told that he does not have to take any responsibility at all for the child he has brought into the world. Abortion just leads to more abortion. Any country that accepts abortion is not teaching its people to love, but to use violence to get what they want. ~Mother Teresa

I believe that it is the mothers choice although I personally don't think it's a very good reason to abort a baby. If the mother would not be able to love her child because of this disablilty then it won't have a very good quality of life. Also it would depend on the extent of the deformity/disability.

Hi,
I don't really agree in abortions mainly due to the fact that I had a missed miscarriage with my boy Matthew when he was I was 18 weeks. A missed miscarriage means the baby dies in the womb.
I don't agree that the mother such abort a baby due to it being born with some abnormalities because technology is changing all the times and they invent new cures for things all the time.
I once heard of a lady who aborted her baby due to the fact that she was worried the baby would be born with a Cleft Lip. I don't feel she should have done this.
I also work with disabled children and although most of the ones I work with have learning difficulties, they do thrive and learn and when you see them smile, it puts a lot of things into perspective.
I feel that if a woman has been raped or if the pregnancy poses a risk to her own life then by all means an abortion would need to be done but just because baby will have a problem then no.
Having said that I know many may say it is cruel to bring a baby into the world who may die a few seconds after birth and maybe in those cases an abortion may be the best option.

I think it depends on the level of disability and the Mother's own opinions. If the Mother feels she is able to cope with the disability and chooses to keep the child, good for her. If the Mother feels she would not be able to cope, or the child would have a shocking quality of life, then the decision to abort may be the right one in that case. My sister recently had a scare when Drs discovered that the child she is carrying may have Down's Syndrome. She told me that if it did she would probably abort. Although this made me very sad I know my sister would not have been able to cope with this outcome. Fortunately further tests proved the child to perfectly healthy. Personally, having worked with Down's children, I would keep a baby in this scenario - but everyone is different.
And to the person above who said most conditions like Down's aren't detected before 16 weeks - you need to get your facts right before mouthing off. The routine Down's Syndrome test is carried out at 12-13 weeks during a procedure called a nuchal scan, or else with a blood test called a triple test.

Of course it should not be aborted.
What kind of a society have we become that less than perfect is not acceptable anymore??
Are you saying that babies with deformities have less value than babies who are healthy?
Is one human being deserving of life and not another?
God makes all babies, and sometimes they have health problems. My husband and I were blessed with such a baby last year. She had Charge Syndrome which caused severe heart defects, vision and hearing loss and kidney damage.
I DARE any woman here to say that it would be ok for a baby like ours to be aborted simply because the mother wants to!!
It's NOT about what a woman wants. It's about what God wants. He wants us to give every baby a chance at life. Yes, some of these babies don't live long. We lost our beautiful little girl at 5 months old. But she blessed everyone who knew her in her short time on earth.
If parents are overwhelmed at the possibility of caring for a disabled or deformed child, then adoption is the best option. There are THOUSANDS of childless couples out there who specifically are looking to adopt DISABLED children. They will give these poor babies the love and nurturing they deserve.
God is not pleased when we kill unborn babies, especially the ones who are sick and vulnerable. They, above all, should be especially protected and loved.

If the mom is saying something is wrong with her baby...she really doesn't know. I offer to take them to a REAL doctor for another opinion. Most often, they are just saying this out of ignorance, or they are trying to justify their abortion by using the "sinus medicine" they took last week to justify it. Honestly, I hear that stuff all the time. Most abortions occur from 8-12 weeks. Abortion clinics usually only kill to about 16 weeks and at that stage you really don't know if your baby is OK or not. It's usually much later when you find out stuff like Down Syndrome and other difficulties. Late term abortions are almost always done in a hospital setting or a very unique abortion clinic like George Tiller's in Wichita, KS. I just don't think you will run into that situation at a regular abortion clinic setting.
Even so, disabled children deserve to live. We can't play God by determining who lives and dies. Women have been goddesses, demanding the right to make this determination. There is a lot of help and support in parenting sick or disabled children. And, most importantly, God pours out His grace to meet the need. He has a purpose for everything He does.

My pal had an abortion final April, whilst she became 17. She were along with her boyfriend for virtually a million and a nil.5 years. She became in one year 12, he in one year 11. From what i be responsive to of the placement (i do no longer desire to ask, it is not a impressive ingredient to improve), whilst she found out, they deliberate to hold the toddler up mutually. happy stuff appropriate? yet then this moron of a tw@t informed her to get an abortion, or he'd smash up along with her. She had tension from his kin to have an abortion, and in part from her grandparents too (she would not be responsive to her father, would not stay along with her mom) so she went alongside with it. It easily killed her. She on no account had to do it yet became under lots tension. She became an entire and utter mess for approximately 3 months afterwards, i've got on no account elementary somebody to offer maximum of tears. A 300 and sixty 5 days a nil.5 on, she is at present on a direction in school doing nicely yet mentally i think of she nevertheless won't be able to understand what took place. The tw@t of a boyfriend broke up along with her besides approximately 2 weeks after it took place (my associates and that i gave him what for). i think of she does remorseful approximately doing it a great deal, she is definitely one of those candy and mothering type that it is not undemanding to think of she easily did it. on the tip of the day although, it became the main suitable one for HER subject, yet that's to no longer say that's one she would not remorseful approximately.

Since my aunt is against abortion, she delivered a baby that doctors determined would die righ after birth because its skull wasn't covering its brain. It did die as soon as it was born and the mother nearly died also in the delivery. My aunt nearly left 7 children orphans. She wants to have as many as God will give her. With 143 million unwanted orphans (orphanshope.org), we don't need any more orphans. We need to start adopting. Prolife seems to only care about the Unborn and ignores the Born and the mothers right to quality healthcare.
My mother nearly died after being raped by male law enforcement and later having a back alley abortion from a male doctor. I hope women will always have full rights to her private body.
I'm prochoice. Government should never regulate women's bodies. The Woman is best at determining what happens to her body and whatever is growing in her body.

I think its the Mother's choice if she is ready or not . Personally I think its a good idea to have abortions for severally reasons...1. because a women can get pregent by a rapist she wouldn't want to raise that child of the father that raped her 2. if a young women is in school and she got pregent and she wanted to continue her education. It all depends if the mother wants to look after another life for the rest of her life.
