The Bible speaks of homosexuality as an abomination...so yes, I would speak out against it.
I would speak out to a friend who was committing adultury
I would speak out to a friend who was stealing something
Is it my own will?......I suppose the way you are looking at it , it is....because I choose to follow God's word.......my free will choice.

I am a Christian and I do oppose same sex marriages, believe that God does and will continue to vote against but please allow me to address this on a different ground.
My vote represents my choice regardless of how I came to that choice. Do I not have the right to vote the way I feel? Not allowing me to vote according to my convictions, does that not interfere with my free will?
So if I'm understanding correctly, your statement indicates that those who oppose based on Christianity should give up the free will to vote on this issue. Or maybe I vote but don't vote according to my conviction? Why not just skip the voting all together. Not trying to be sarcastic but the idea of voting is we vote according to our own sense of right and wrong or what we think is best.
I, like most everyone knows a guy couple or two. Do I approve of their lifestyle. No but it doesn't matter. They are not seeking my approval. To change the definition of marriage in America, putting it up for vote was asking my approval and my vote is no. If you approve, you vote yes. It's call democracy. (government by the people; especially : rule of the majority)

The bible only proscribes sodomy and nothing else. So: Since lesbians do not usually practise that they are not covered. Male homosexuals that do not indulge in sexual practises are also not involved. Christians regularly get involved in affairs and other sexual practises and believe that by asking forgiveness they start with a clean sheet. Either that practise works across the board or not at all!!! But the real point about the bible is that marriage receives only a little mention whilst the love of one person for another is mentioned countless times!!! The real problem Christians have with homosexuality is their own terrible human emotions and failings and not the bible and particularly not the god they seek to hide behind!!!

Why stop at the US ?? They ought to tell the whole world how they ought to be . *sarcasm*
Im sorry but doesnt that sound a little communistic?
Im not here to bow to another persons beliefs or satndards as that is my own free will and I will make my own desicions without be "told" what others think I "should" do.
I offer the same courtesy to everyone else.
I never tell a man that he cannot love another man. Or Woman not to love another woman.
I only have a problem with people that try to love animals and children in this way.

God's will has and will continue to be done with Christians or without them. Christians have the right to vote therefore they can vote against or for it. It's there God-given right to exercise it! We must enforce our rights especially when it interferes with our children and their Education and what they watch on TV especially in America. I'm concerned for my children and their future.
Shalom

don't you believed that my own free will?, have allow my self to believed that is true that God create man and woman, with a purpose?, and he didn't created Homosexuals, and marriage, should be between two of the oppose sex?. that is if you accept my own free will, to decide that God was, is and will be right. "Life is God only Business" God want to keep the world, out way from hell, and in the Bible, there is a passage that said that HIM(God), doesn't approves for two of the same sex to pursue a physical relationship. what is the good in this anyway????. So, why worry,I don't know your own sexual preferences, but if they are different than my own why, trying to imposes your righteous believes about the subject. although I'm a man, and my Son should follow, the same path, scare me that someone may try to influence him, in any other direction, its my responsibility and prerogative to guide, teach and assist then (my children's), with what I think is the right path, to perfection. In which case I'm not worry, but only about your own opinion??.

Whether God is for it or against it, we shouldn't rewrite definitions to include everyone. Marriage is, by definition, between a man and a woman. If you want to call it civil union, equal rights for partners, whatever, it is fine with me. But marriage is the holy union of a MAN and a WOMAN. I believe homosexuality is a sin, but do not necessarily believe that our government should legislate sinful acts. Have whatever type of relationship you want, just find your own term for it, marriage it is not.

No, because I realize that gay and lesbian couples will still have relations even if they aren't allowed to legally marry. It's really none of my business to interfere with people's private lives; as long as they aren't hurting anyone else.
I live in Massachusetts where gay marriage has been legal for some time, and it hasn't changed a thing as far as non-gay people are concerned. I'm straight, so I wouldn't want a gay marriage for myself, but you know what? Legalizing gay marriage in my state hasn't had any impact whatsoever on my heterosexual marriage.

Christian woman says--->
ok, first off I wouldn't vote against it.
yes, I always say "consider your own faults before you consider mine"
and yahh...I have gay friends
I don't tell them not to be gay
I was partying with a Lesbien the other day
I don't care.
I don't have the right to tell some homosexual that they're going to hell.
That's God's right only. If I wouldn't enforce my beliefs on the local drug dealer then of course wtf am I going to do that on a lesbien for?

I live in Boston where gays have been marrying for a few years now. By now , its become a completely routine thing. In fact, what opposition there was at the beginning of it has mostly melted away. Years from now, this will be seen as a great moment in American history. I'm proud to live in such a progressive state and wish gay people all over could claim this right. BTW, if you care, I'm straight.

Maybe a little bit of it is fear of being an accessory to a crime against God?
I'm no theologian, but I do believe that Sodom, Zeboim, Gomorrah, and a host of other cities were destroyed for homosexuality in some shape or form according to the Bible, and maybe, just maybe, the Christians don't want God to get a little wrathful again?
Idle speculation, of course, being an Atheist, I can only guess at their motivations.
