I answered a question the other day about the new Pedigree commercial, no one likes that they brag about being good food when really it is not. Why is yahoo supporting a dog food brand that has no meat in it? Dog chow has corn, wheat, corn gluten, wheat fluten, bha, bht, byproduct and bone meal.... its allergy heaven. Why can't yahoo answers support a brand because of its AAA rating? Not a brand that pays them. After all, "pets" is here to make a dogs life better, right?

They 'support' whoever pays them the dough.

I don't work for Yahoo, however I run a business and businesses needs revenue. While I think those dog foods suck, I am an informed consumer and make my choices and everyone else has the right to make those choices as well. Advertizing is just that. Hopefully the public researches food and makes the same informed choices. Meanwhile, lets all support the right to advertize. I'm sure if Eukanuba wanted to advertize they could, same for Inova or Royal Canin... why penalize Yahoo cause Pedigree is the only one spending the $$

To each his own. There are a LOT of people (I am not one of them) that feed Dog CHow and have for years and love it.
It meets all the requirements for a dog food, and some people actually have dogs that do very well on it.
I have a friend that is a big time breeder and handler and she feeds it and her dogs look great. Others might not agree, but that is why we are lucky enough to live in America where there are all kinds of choices that we are free to make!!!!!!!

And NO the YA! pets section is NOT here to make pets lives better!!!!!! Geez...look at some of the questions and you can see that!!! People are allowed to give advice that is DANGEROUS and potentially deadly, but that is AOK with YA!!!!

Because Yahoo generates money through advertising. Just because they show an add doesn't mean that they endorse it. Just like the NFL isn't pushing all three beer manufacturers or cheetos, doritos and whatever else they show during commercial breaks. If you have a business and want to make money, you really don't care who gives it to you so long as it's legal. That's the way it goes.

1 bag of Pedigree = Really cheap food cost + Really expensive advertising costs

1 bag of Timberwolf Organics = Really expensive quality controlled heavily inspected food cost + next to nothing advertising costs cause they don't advertise.

I'd hate to have to pay an extra 5 to 10 dollars a bag just so my food could advertise on-line. Especially when I tell all my friends about the food for free!

Seriously, walk around a food store, consider all the advertising you see, and look at the price. You don't really pay that much more for super quality food that doesn't advertise!

Yahoo is a business like every other business. Advertisers are their customers. If they want to advertise unhealthy foods like dog chow or Twinkies it doesn't matter to Yahoo. In this aspect, they're no better or worse than any other business.

They paid Yahoo a lot of money. Simple as that. Just try not to get sucked in by the ads and everything will be fine. Would you rather pay to use Y! Answers?

Huh? What do you mean "supporting?" Showing their ads? Yahoo is a business - Pedigree is a well established company. Yahoo will gladly take their money.

Good point.

But, Yahoo takes whoever coughs up the money for adverts. Bottom line.

I agree but unfortunately money talks and yahoo can't be prejudice when it comes to advertising.
