as a violation of Guidelines.

The question was a simple, neutral one:
When will other countries build military bases in USA, like we Americans do in their countries?

Can you help me understand the reasoning of the people in the Military section for reporting such a harmless question?

Did anyone report the user who slandered me in their answer for no reason too? If not, why?

I violated no Guideline, he did, but my question was deleted. Is this honorable? Is this behavior what veterans are fighting for?

Jerry C, that's all anyone had to do -- just answer the question. There was no agenda, nor any need for anyone to be condescending or rude in their answers, like you are being here.

I don't know how the process works, hence a simple question about it. I have no clue how you can see that as troll-like. People assume alot here, and are quick to insult.

I don't believe other countries should have bases here in the USA (and I'm a natural born, Scottish descent American citizen FYI).

Thanks for putting words in my mouth. That seems more like an agenda to me.

The first question I ever asked in the military category, and it's garnered the meanest responses I've ever gotten on ALL of Yahoo Answers.

1) To answer your original question, there is no need for another country to build a base here. What would the strategic reason? Who is going to invade us that another country needs to pre-positin forces here to help us stop it?There is no instability here that a country would have to project force here. Also, allied countries are free to use our bases if they need to, usually happens with the Navy visiting ports.

As for Yahoo, I think sometimes if they get too many objectable answers, because answers can be reported too, spurred by a question, they may just take the entire question off because they may see it as baiting.

sorry dude I saw that one, seemed tame to me
you can never second guess the rulebook or the players
here... just adapt :) hang tuff you will get past it

edit: like above said I agree and I always respond re open the violation notice down where the link to I think customer service
it's in blue near the bottom anyway.. email your exact concerns, takes a while but real people look at it then, before is all computer generated ! Worked for me many, many times. Some are vindictive and trigger happy. Note editor's look at them also. Too many reports for nothing they get a ding back.

edit: I do not know if this helps but I have noticed a rash of un happy foreign posters on here. Many from the UK yesterday bashing the US. Some from Iran? I mean tensions are high. And this world wide influx on a long standing page may have just gotten to our old timers. Many are back in force right now.
The notion of a slant against America may be your cause.

I love your question. It only fuels the fire of such an un-patriotic stance you implied to the military. The military is a very delicate group. They are ingrained with the love of country. Anything that crosses that is traitorous, therefore whatever your question implied was a direct threat to any of their logic. I see through your question though and I "get it". As far as answering your original question. The US wouldn't allow it because America is the sole SUPERPOWER and therefore can dictate what goes on militarily in the world. Plus there is a little thing called ego. If I could I would give you a thumbs up!

Wow, it shocks me that this question continues to be here some 20 hours after it grow to be first published. a superb variety of spectacular solutions. i take advantage of to love this class until eventually all of the bullies began exhibiting up. it often gets greater acceptable as quickly as college starts and at present grow to be the 1st day of faculty in my city. It saddens me to think of that there are people who have not something greater acceptable to do than to be basically undeniable evil to those that they don't even understand. That they might't discover greater efficient issues, in a favorable way, to do. It basically in no way fails that once human beings hit upon a stable element there are continually different individuals around to thoroughly wreck it. that's what our society has grow to be. What in the worldwide might desire to be relaxing approximately reporting all of the time and would not Yahoo think of that's unusual that a similar persons save doing the reporting. the only time I checklist somebody is whilst they attempt to pan cope with for income this class. i think of that must be against the guidelines. properly, besides.....useful question Blu.

They will probably build foreign military bases in the USA when other countries help the US as much as they help everyone else.

I don't think your question should have been reported, and I don't know why someone would. My best guess is that some people can't handle certain things....

someone probably thought you were being antagonistic and "troll-like"
and in reality...your question kind of is since you know darn well that other countries won't be building military bases in the US anytime soon.....c'mon....seriously.

as for the person who slandered you....i have no idea what they wrote, but why didn't you report them?
not that i'm encouraging it...but if you didn't do anything about it then, then that's your fault and not anyone else's. i don't think you should be complaining that you got reported and someone esle didn't. in fact, you don't know if someone else did report that person. frankly, you should probably just worry about what you do and what Q you ask that get violations.

also, talk to Y!A. if you present your case properly they may overrule the violation. that happened with me once. i got a violation and i posted a thread on the violation forum and it was reversed. i felt so vindicated! give it a shot!

good luck.

Dude, someone is going to report this too (I won't, you write politely). The reason is because it implies that since we have bases in other countries, they should have them here, and well, that's not the way the world is today. It makes no sense for foreign countries to have a military here, they have no need to contain us.

Maybe the details of the question or any editing you added broke the Guidelines? I didn't see your question but you should e-mail the address in the violation notice to dispute the violation. Everyone who answered you lost their 2 points when the question was deleted.

FYI, it was a couple of veterans that reported your question.

If I type slower, will you be able to understand this? We build bases in other countries because they want us to. We don't allow other countries to build bases in our country because there is no need for it.

Those bases we build do several things. First, they provide some protection for the local population against foreign military attacks. Second, they provide much need financial infusion for the local economy. Third, as I stated earlier, they want our bases there.

A base in the US built by another country would not provide us with the same benefits.

I suspect a few Americans didnt like your question so reported you. If more than one user reports a question it is deleted.

I didnt see this question originally but it doesnt appear to violate any guidelines.
