Its not IUD ...its IED ( Improvised explosive device) ...the military designation for road side bomb .....but the term can also applied for bombs made of many pieces not in one piece remember in the begining of Movie X-Files ( not series ).

Define Iud

An IED. Improvised explosive device. Cheap easy to make and with a good hand toss and aim land right into the lap of a Humvee's driver and then BOOM!! Then a couple of other Humvee behind get hit with shrapnel from the blown up Humvee and then one gets up on the fifty cal. machine Gun
another perfect target for an IED and sniper shots. The Iraqi people are not too familiar with an IUD...they use the rhythm method.

An IUD is an inter-uterine-device which blocks the male sperm from reaching the female egg.

An IED, as commonly used in Iraq and spoken of on the daily news, is an Improvised Explosive Device which is commonly wired to a cell-phone or other piece of electronic equipment which can be activated from a distance

Liked the IUD bit though, would be funny seeing a roadside IUD get a Humvee, those dastardly AQI's

That's why you're having problems. It's not an IUD but an IED, an improvised explosive device. They're both effective means of population control which is sad.

You are looking for IED Improvised Explosive Device. IED's are not limited to being just road side bombs, though that is the main use of them. They are pretty much any homemade explosive made with anything that can cause an explosion, and can be placed in a number of places and detonated by various means.

You have the wrong acronym. The term your looking for is IED, (improvised explosive device). An IED is basically just an explosive device aka a bomb that is detonated when ever a convey comes along. In a sense they are very similar to landmines but they are remote detonated.
