I know it sounds crazy but my 2 year old has started seeing things in only one room of our house. My wife and I had a big Halloween party and bought some graphic decorations as it was an adult party and we wanted to have fun with it. After the party, we packed up the decorations and now he is adament in telling us there is something "scary" in there, and I have seen black streaks in the air. My wife has told me several times that she sees someone dressed in black out of the corner of her eye. She is so scared that she will not stay in the house alone which is completely unlike her. We have never had any problems until this past week. Please help.

Scott, I am going to give you serious advice to your question! Pack up anything associated with the occult or Halloween and get it out of your home right away! You have left open a window for demons or evil spirits to come into your home. Have nothing to do with this holiday! You need the help of a good clergyman. If you are being harassed by these demons, you can rebuke them in the name of Jesus! However, I would suggest you call in someone who can help you that is spiritually strong and has had experience in this area! You must pray the Lord protect your family and never allow this sort of thing into your home again! What some people do not realize is that this Holiday is not the innocent holiday that we think it is. It has deep roots in the worship of Satan. I will pray for the protection of your family!

I think it is probably just your child's overactive imagination. Remember the mind is very good at creating hallucinations. Vivid dreams and hallucinations are creations of the mind- they aren't there but they are real to your brain. If you're afraid your imagination can get the best of you.

You should never argue from ignorance. That term isn't meant to insult its just a term. It simply means that you should rule everything out before you decide something is supernatural, you don't hear a noise or see something in the air and go straight to "it must be supernatural". Since the reality is that supernatural occurrences tend not to happen once they are investigated by objective 3rd parties.

Get rid of anything that you and your wife feel has attracted negative energy, such as a ouija. Then, clean the house thoroughly from top to bottom, paying special attention to the areas where you've seen things and the room you mentioned. Next, get some sage or sage incense, holy water, or sea/salt water. Light a white candle (optional). Go all over the house in every room from top to bottom, paying special attention to the room and areas where you've seen the entity with the burning incense/water, and repeat firmly together, "You are not welcome here! You will leave now!"
Open the front door and walk out with the incense/water and go around your house.
Do this with courage in your hearts. Spirits are very sensitive and can sense and feed off of fear. Courage will repel negative entities because they cannot feed off of it.

EDIT: It's best not to have a child in the house while you do this. Ask a friend or relative to babysit for you.

Something supernatural isn't necessarily happening here.
A 2 year old child will have trouble differentiating the difference between "real" and "imaginary" in regards to the decorations, of course he is going to be scared of them!
The shadows could be just shadows or mistaking something out of the corner of one's eye. I would seek natural explanations and try to calm down a bit here.
If the "issues" persist and worsen you could consult your church, as a catholic we do believe demons exist and can cause supernatural events, but one must look for natural explanation before letting their imaginations run wild.
If you are catholic, or even if you are not, sprinkle some holy water (you should be able to obtain some at a catholic church) and do a quick blessing accompanied by a prayer in every room of your house. The prayer could quite simply go:
"I bless this room in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. May it be filled with the sanctity and love of God's infinite presence daily. Amen."
Its a good thing to do even if there is nothing "otherworldly" going on.

Well they do say that children have more of an open mind to things then we do as adults. There also could be nothing you have never had any problems since the past week so it could be all the Halloween stuff scaring you or it could be some thing more. You should do some research on line and see what you can find out about what your wife saw and maybe you will get some answers. Good luck

Your child created the energy that allowed the Spirits to arrive through the emotions generated by the decorations. Your child is not encumbered by the skeptisim brought by age and is using a part of the brain that is quiesent in adults. The energy was created by certain visual (& audio) signals that your child was subjected to. It is the bond with your child that allows you to percieve (but not clearly see) the Spirit. Sit down and talk with your child about the spirit.
Find out the spirits apperance and destroy the decoration that manifests the appearance. The appereance of the spirit is a self propagating event. The sighting of the spirit draws your family;'s adrenlian, thus creating memories. The more recent the memories, the greater chance of reoccurence!
The best way of sending a negative signal back to the spirit, is an effigial ritual. (water/salt is clensing, earth/burying is laying to rest, and fire is destroying) After having the ritual, a departure of the house is in order. An active weekend that challenges the child is best. Upon return, light up the room that the spirit appeared in and place pictures of the recent Vacation to trigger the Vacation memories in your child.

My family has had the same problem.
One room where strange things and manifestations occur.
Two things;
This entity likes to scare people, and that is what this is all about. If you have no fear of them, they get mad with you and either leave or work all the more on those who are frightened by them.
2. In order to really get rid of them requires one who is actually a Christian and strong in faith. There are all too many Christians whose faith is pretty lacking.
Rituals and other dog and pony shows don't hack it. When Jesus cast one out, all he had to do was tell him to leave.
I'll see what I can do from here.
It wouldn't hurt for you to study the examples of Jesus casting out demons from Scripture.

Well, don't worry, it is all in your head.
Ever wonder about those magic tricks that magicians do? Yeah, those are illusions and your brain is tricked into thinking that something actually happened, when it was just an illusion. Remember, kids say the darnest things.
Maybe he saw something in a movie especailly since halloween is near and cartoons and movies always come on about spirits and zombies. He might have seen one and got scared. Its all psychological.
But if it makes you feel better. Get a bible and put it in the room.

I've had good luck (so far) communicating with the few ghosts I've found (about a dozen). They all left the area they were in and that brought a relief, a feeling that the space was more free.

Unless you are of The Church you can not.... even if you were to bring in someone of The Church and they did drive out the evil spirits... they would just come back soon any way... Only one of The Church with the Authority of God may command demons(evil spirits)... I am not speaking of the "Catholics" they are not The Church... Only one of The True Christian Faith... and that not someone who just thinks they are... but someone who is of The True Faith could deal with your situation...... and as you are not of The Church you will remain open to such assaults even after the first are driven out...
You may well have summoned some form of the forces of evil with your "party" activities.. with out intending to... I can not advise you... except that you may have to move... try contacting a local Bible teaching congregation. such as a Bible Baptist or Conservative Baptist... I do not recommend the Roman Catholic as most all of the Priests are not truly of The Church... but it will be difficult to find someone who will even believe you... even in most so-called "Christian" Churches such things are not dealt with very well... or at all... all I can offer is that I have said a prayer for you... and hope for you, in the mortal sens, good luck..
