If you grant the possibility of evolution, then before 'we were all monkeys', way back before that, then we were fish.

Ahhhh, but the oceans are still full of fish.

The answer is obvious.

Evolution isn't a magic process in which ALL of one species turn into another species. What happens iis that individual mutations and variations arise that then branch off into similar, but specialized species.

The whole thing takes a very long time to happen.

Firstly, because we didn't evolve from monkeys, our line is the same as chimps. And our family path was slightly different from chimps. You can be the same genus and not look that similar.

If you want to take it to the extreme. Your question is asking if there is one species with a backbone, why are there others with a backbone too.

Your question is flawed.

evolution on a smaller scale sees our genes have one point mutations everyday but that doesn't mean that those of us who don't have this mutation die out. Look at the sickle cell mutation, it still co-exists with the normal gene.
Evolution is not hard to grasp when you look at it as it is. But if you are looking for something to believe and skimming over the facts, you miss the boat. The product? questions like yours

The whole theory about humans evolving from apes is the most dumbest thing I have ever heard. Humans did not evolve from monkeys and who ever believes that needs some serious help.

For the same reason there is a range of intelligence in humans, too.
