you can't work through grief. It works its way through you. Bit like a curry, but less immediate.

If you want to get an edge in everyday communication and lead other people towards your goals this is a must read.

Hypnosis is more commonly used for people to access their lost memories. I have never heard of using it to lose them.
So, it's been about a year and you are still hurting as if it were fresh. You are not going to die from it. But, yes it can be painful. It appears that emotionally you are "stuck" and not able to progress with your own life, emotionally tied to something where there is no hope. Your grief can be helped, and your emotions can move on to the next stages. What you need to do is to work with a counselor or therapist for a couple of months, to find out where and why you are stuck, and for you to get some coaching on how to move forward.
Truly, this is a more thorough and successful method, the counseling. Its benefits will stay with you much longer than any other method.
If you don't know where to find someone, call your county's Mental / Behavioral Health offices. They have experience and training in just this sort of problem, and are available to the public to provide what is needed for your health.

Hypnosis will not work to forget things. Nothing will make you forget. It is healthy to remember but get past it. Your best revenge against her (and she sounds like an awful person) is to live well. Make her eat her words. I am sure you're not ugly, she dated you- someone else will. But for now you have to focus on yourself. Do things that you enjoy. Make yourself happy because no one else is responsible for making you happy.
You should also check out the Jim Carrey / Kate Winslet movie Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. It is about a clinic started just to erase people's memories of bad relationships. Besides being an awesome movie, it will show you that forgetting is not for the best.

Sometimes a good ex will always be around as a memory or even in person locally. A good marriage will not be ruined by other people no matter what the memories are. Marriage involves the understanding that the married people will be together for the duration, no matter what else happens or has happened. Personally, I don't care if my bf looks at other women sometimes or talks about his ex. He is my partner, he can say or think whatever he wants. It won't change the fact that we are a couple. We will be married someday, maybe other people will tempt us, idk, but we will stay married and avoid infidelity just for the sake of a good partnership and peace in our home.

You must face the situation and avoid any thoughts of your ex. Try to do some activities, for example sport or just something that will keep you involved in it, and you will forget about her. Delete everything that relates to her if it's so suffering.
The less you mention about her, the faster you forget.
Good Luck.

You're only shot at getting your ex back is to follow the right steps that will make her ask you to get back together. Learn here https://tr.im/Qlwgj
Maybe if you broke up with her, then you might be able to be the one who brings up the subject of getting back together. But if you can do it without, it would be much better. But how do you get someone back without seeming desperate? In order to get your ex girlfriend attention, you have to show value without telegraphing your interest in her, while at the same time initiating interaction. So don't ignore your ex texts and calls when they break up with you. It screams that you are so devastated by the breakup that you can't even handle talking to her. You want to respond to her, but do it in the right way. You can even initiate communication if you do it in the right way. You have to maintain a strong frame of confidence, and show your ex girlfriend that your happiness isn't dependent on being with her

Meet other people, a good way is to be focused on some goal which is positive.
One way is to enroll in a foreign language class, Spanish is ideal in the US and will improve your long term job and social prospects.
Before you enroll, try the website

Hypnosis does not work, drugs and alcohol only make things worse, and a drug conviction keeps you from getting student loans for college.
