With congress trying to pass laws restricting other religions, other than christianity, do you think that we as a people should tell our law makers to back off of religion as a whole??? keep in mind that I am including all religions: jewish, muslim, christian, native american shamanism, wicca, buddha, hindi, sikh, etc.

The state has no business in religion. And vice versa.
Of course, when you look at the fact that war, religion and the state have operated most of the major scams of history, conspired to kill billions of people and basically represent a unified front in the enslavement of societies throughout history, this is a pretty new thought.
But it's a good one.
My guess is if we could really get religion out of government, the end of war would be within view.

I don't think there's anything wrong with bringing ones value system to the public arena. Religious people inevitable have value systems based on their religious so it's natural for them to share. Isn't being secular a value system too? In fact, if you don't have values you think are worth sharing then why be in the public arena? Therefore I am an atheist who doesn't mind listening to my religious friend's ideas.
All separation of church and state means is that the government shall not establish an official religion like the UK has. It's doesn't mean people are guaranteed freedom from religion or that people should abandon their values when they enter government.

Absolutely not. No one religion could possibly represent the beliefs of a country that has many varying beliefs. It would be wrong an unfair to preach one over all others and too much hassle to try an encompass them all.
Religion should be a private and personal matter.

"The Government of the United States is not in any sense founded on the Christian religion." - John Adams
"Religion and government will both exist in greater purity, the less they are mixed together." - James Madison
They should always stay separate.

the religion is "hinduism" not "hindi" as hindi is a language spoken in India. Because you wrote 'hindi" instead of "hinduism" this question appeared on my hindi langauge group and that is why I am bothering to correct your error.
Also Buddhism, not Buddhaa, as Buddhaa was the one who established the Buddhist religion. I assume the correct reference to the Sikh religion is Sikhism.

Isn't religion already in our governmental affairs?
WHEN DID IT LEAVE?
We started as a country "one nation under God"
When did we NOT have religion in governmental affairs.
And the Kings in other countries, ever heard of the "Divine Right of Kings"? that has God all over it.
This question doesn't make sense.

this could be a rely of ways the government is in touch, or greater suited how in touch the persons are interior the government. while catastrophe strikes, maximum of those affected will seem to the government for help. that's smart and predicted by way of fact an analogous human beings have given their attempt and taxes to an analogous c=government. while the government comprises itself in very own activities, consisting of the place and how the human beings spend their money, what the persons are allowed to make certain and to hearken to, who ought to serve the government in a time of conflict, the government then will become intrusive and it will become time for the human beings to take administration lower back.

not at all, religion and politics should be completely separate from each other. if a government does that then it will be like WW2 all over again. the government can't take over people's lives like that, it's just not right - what happened to privacy?

The government was founded out of Christianity so they will always favor them, but I think they should keep it completely out of politics. But that will never happen.
