This is my second year in college and maybe I'm going to the wrong one but it is very similar to high school. If you make friends easy in high school you will make them even easier in college. There is a wider variety of people so if you had trouble finding people with similar interest you might have more luck in college. I really wish I made different friends the first year because the ones I have now are very immature.

1) I have found people are not more mature. That was a huge let down, there is still a lot of drama in college- but its easier to stay away from people who cause it I think. It really depends on the type of college, a big state school you can avoid people but I go to a very small college (2000 people, the same no. of people who went to my highschool in fact) so the cliques and the way you see everyone is like highschool.
2) Its better in general than highschool? YES def. being on your own is a huge plus. You can take classes you're interested in.
3) Ive had a lot of guys become more interested in me since coming to college but I cant speak for everyone. I think part of it is guys want girlfriends more in college and another part is I got alot prettier towards the end of highschool coming into college. In the beginning of highschool I was never the pretty girl, now I am considered that so yes, Ive had more guys ask me out.
4) Its so much easier to meet people! There are tons of things to do on every campus whether you know it or not. I go to a small college and I find out all the time there are these activities that I never knew about.
5) I go to an out of state college and love it, however, I am close enough to home that if something drastic happens (broke my arm last year needed physical therapy) I can come home if I want to. Cant speak for my friends who go to school halfway across the country however.

Certainly people are more responsible and mature as they have lived that many more years than a junior in high school. Many are away from their parents for the first time and so take this living independly a little too serious and end up partying a little too much thus allowing their studies to suffer. Very easy to met and make friends in post secondary school system as you are there with people who have the same interests as you. Lots of folks leave where they live and end up loving their new area. So now is probably a good time to begin investigating different colleges and universities that offer courses of study that you are interested in. Check them out and if possible speak with some of their current and/or past students and find out how they viewed their time there and if they have found a job in their area of study. Best of luck in first high school then your post secondary career.

I'm enjoying college more than I enjoyed high school. They're kind of two different worlds. High school is dramatic and very scheduled. In college, you basically pick your own schedule. In addition to that, it really is your responsibility to get everything done on time.
In high school, it wasn't a big deal if you missed a class. I'm almost afraid to miss classes in college, because you learn so much new material each day. You miss a day, you're behind, and it is hard to catch back up. Not all the classes are like this, but a lot of mine are.
I think as far as being asked out goes, it's very different. In high school, most people were worried about their image, so even if they liked someone, they'd be afraid to ask them out because of the rumors that might fly around. College is different because it doesn't really matter who you ask out. If you like them, cool, date them.
It's easier to meet people (especially when you're a freshman) because everyone else is new too. The old cliques from high school are broken up.

It depends on the school. The farther you go from home, the less like high school it will be. I made the mistake of going to a nearby school for my first year of college, and it was like big high school. I am a bit happier now that I am farther away, but I am not wholly happy. I am one of the rare few who actually preferred high school to college; but, I am not a big partier, and all the universities in my state are party schools.
