does anyone know why if Snoopy is a beagle he's only black & white? I have a beagle~ hes black brown & white!

it's unusual for beagles to be only black and white but that coloring can still be a beagle

Good question....considering that Snoopy is actually Charles Schultz's alter ego, I guess he can be any color beagle he wants. I think that the answer though lies in the fact that way back when they were doing the strip in black and white and just kept Snoopy those colors. That would be my take on it!

Although most commonly found in tri-color variety, beagles can actually come in most any color, including black and white.

Sparky had a black and white dog when he was a child, maybe that was also part of his inspiration for Snoopy.

because Snoopy is not a real dog just a character in a comic.

Could of been brown or whatever but he is black and white.

It was Charles Shultz beagle, it could have been blue and purple if he wanted he was a cartoonist...

I agree, when they first started doing the comic everything was black and white and people became familiar to his colors so they left him that way.
