the sun literally created us by exploding the elements that make up our bodies throughout the solar system...the sun then graciously didn't go supernova, but stayed in the exact right placement at the center of the solar system to bless our planet with perfect temperatures to create an atmosphere that allows life to flourish here. the sun has gifted us with our very lives, and then blesses us each day with the hope of another day of life...he fills the heaven with the radiance of his glory...

now, global warming is obvious proof that THE LORD is angry and his anger waxes hot against his creation, so you might want to watch your arses.

I realize the sun is not God because the sun did not create the rest of the universe of universes. I realize the sun was created by God and is maintained by our unseen heavenly host - and that's why the sun does what it does. I realize the sun is not God because the Sun has no personality with which to have a relationship. As for the atmosphere and what is happening with global warming - I feel that we do not have all the facts about that; but science, religion and history will come together to figure it all out and they are working diligently every day to do just that.

World without end.

The sun is made to shine on the just and the unjust; everyone has to deal with it's natural course. Those who know the Father, the One True God, know he does not reward you with good weather and punish you with bad weather... the weather is a law of nature that goes forth regardless of your goodness or badness.

Interesting perspective, especially considering that the Bible calls God "El Elyon." That means God Most High and was a Pagan epithet for the Noontime Sun. So, in a sense, the Sun is God or at least a manifestation of God.

Even more interesting is the idea that Akhenaten, not Abraham, founded monotheism. After all, the Greek letters of the Copper Scroll spell HIS name, not Abraham's. Perhaps Abraham got the idea from him. Akhenaten did, after all, point to the Sun as God.

sun is not the God
it disappear but God not
read
Mt. 24:29-31
Immediately after the distress of those days
" 'the sun will be darkened,
and the moon will not give its light;
the stars will fall from the sky,
and the heavenly bodies will be shaken.'

"At that time the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and all the nations of the earth will mourn. They will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky, with power and great glory.
And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other.
and
Re.16:8
The fourth angel poured out his bowl on the sun, and the sun was given power to scorch people with fire.

the elements you are refering to were made by old stars not our star. The sun is at the centre of the solar system due to its size. Everything else moves around it. The sun changes temperature over time leading to ice ages and global warming that destroy most life on the planet. The sun is just a ball of gas.

The Sun is a wonderful example of God's power and precision. But God works through the whole universe. Our good and very moral God, want us to address the problems of the world, a lot of which have even more urgency than global warming. It is the people who contribute to a better future on this earth, that God will appreciate the most.

Well yes the Sun is the start of many of the myths. But the science part of your question is almost as far off as the "monkey" questions. The heavier elements came from stars that did go supernova.

You're right - "nature" worship certainly is the most rational of religions. The Sun is quite literally the Father of all life here on earth, just as the Earth is literally our Mother.

And for the people who just HAVE to bring up the Bible in this connection, it's only necessary to mention that Christianity is in fact a reformed pagan cult of the Sun-God, as is shown by the fact that the Nativity of Christ takes place at the Winter Solstice, the Birth of the New Sun; while the Resurrection takes place at the Spring Equinox.

So is the moon. And the stars. And the life force in you. And in that mosquito that just flew by me. And in the bacterium on you left shoe. And in every atom and quark and sub-quark in the universe.
