When Jesus makes His next (and final) return, there will be no sign. Consider these statements:
Matthew 24:44 "Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.
1 Thessalonians 5:2 For you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night.
The Book of Revelations states of itself that it pertains to events of that time:
Revelation 1:1 The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave Him to show His servants--*things which must shortly take place*
Revelation 1:3 Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written in it; for *the time is near*

Jesus talked about the "fig tree", which is symbolic of the nation of Israel. He said when the fig tree blossoms, look up for your redemption draws near. He said that the generation that sees this shall not pass away until everything is fulfilled.
Israel became a nation in 1948. That would be just short of 60 years ago. That gives this generation about 15 years.
Of course Jesus also said that no man knows the hour or the day, so we should always be ready.
He compared it to a thief in the night breaking in to your home. If you had known the hour the thief would come, you would be ready for him. Likewise, we should always be looking forward to the return of Jesus.
But, at the same time, when He DOES return, though it be sudden and without warning, it will be so universal that every eye shall see His return. He uses lightning as an illustration of this. When there is lightning in the sky, it is visible to all who are watching, not just a small handfull.
I trust this helps your understanding in these matters.

I don't like the book of revelation, because its seems to show a lack of respect for the value contained in other religions, and people outside the church. Also it tends to predict the future, which is a moral negative, Since a good and very moral God, would wants us to work hard and create a better future. Future outcomes can always be made better. Now maybe I have missed the good and moral sections of this book. I don't believe Jesus would approve of how this book is being used today..

While we do not know the date, nor the hour of Jesus' return, the signs of His 2nd Coming seem to be in place.
Matthew 24 and Luke 21 give information about what we are to recognize as the signs of the end.
Based on these passages, the signs are all around us today.
Therefore, the Bible encourages us with the words of Jesus to "Look up, for your salvation draws near."
and...
"Occupy until I come."

I believe so. One of the key phrases that I remember is that the world would be so bad that if God didn't step in (I'm paraphrasing here) all life would end. Another that makes me believe the time is near is that God gives the sun the power to scorch the Earth in Revelations. (Global Warming) There are a lot more too, but it's best to study it for yourself and reach your own conclusions.

Yes.
Matthew 24:7, 14
“For nation will rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be food shortages and earthquakes in one place after another. 14 And this good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations; and then the end will come.
Luke 21:11
and there will be great earthquakes, and in one place after another pestilences and food shortages; and there will be fearful sights and from heaven great signs.
2 Timothy 3:1-5
But know this, that in the last days critical times hard to deal with will be here. For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, self-assuming, haughty, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, disloyal, having no natural affection, not open to any agreement, slanderers, without self-control, fierce, without love of goodness, betrayers, headstrong, puffed up [with pride], lovers of pleasures rather than lovers of God, having a form of godly devotion but proving false to its power; and from these turn away.

Jesus has never left us in spirit. Our bodies will rot and return to the earth, but our spirits will hear His voice and Join Him and His kingdom, many will be called, but few will be chosen.
Rev 1-8:7 and Rev 12-17:11 have already happened.
The next major event in your lifetime will be the U.S. falls to Asia (Gog) and Russia (Magog) this will happen during the reign of the next President, regardless who is elected president of the U.S.
