Although it can be a remote xc ski cabin as suggested above, it more likely refers to a convenient, trail-side condo at a downhill ski resort.
It is a designation used to refer to a condo/cabin/chalet/ski house that is adjacent to the slopes - so that you can ski out of your condo in the morning - down to the lifts - and at the end of the day - you can just ski down to your condo, take your skis off - and sit by the fire - without having to change at the ski lodge, take a shuttle, park, drive, or any of the other hassles of starting or ending your day of skiing.

What Tipper Bore said.
I'll add that it is a common marketing tool used by the resorts so you keep your butt firmly planted on their soil and don't leave the resort thus making you less inclined to explore the rest of the area and start dropping cash at other venues.
Example: Stratton VT. You ski to the lift, you ski back to your condo. You eat at the company resturaunts, you drink at their bars, you shop at their ski shops. If you stay off-property you are more likely to drink at another bar (and save $$ and help the locals) eat at another resturaunt (and there are lots of them only 15 minutes away) and shop at the ski shop owned by individuals rather than some faceless corporation. This applies to almost EVERY ski town. Get your butts off resort property and support the local economies!!!

A remote cabin or shelter where you ski in, stay the night, and ski out the next day. Presumedly this would be xc skis, unless it's a REALLY long run.
