Is this actually supposed to imply that people who 'believe' in the scientific method are Religious in that respect? If so, I'm wondering what people were doing in 6th grade.
Do you honestly think that...Oh..What's an example...A computer- Do you BELIEVE in computers? (Which are products of the scientific method.) Do you BELIEVE in medicine? Or math? Or, ANYTHING? Virtually everything you come in contact with in your daily life (with the exception of trees, water, dirt etc) was man-made and is a product of the scientific method in some way. Are there people out there who actually think 'science' in general, is a religion? I mean you have no trouble taking medicine developed by scientists using the scientific method (EVEN if that medicine may fail or cause harmful side-effects) Yet 'evolution' is some myth those evil scientists came up with to brainwash the masses. Maybe the vast majority of the United States should be some extreme Amish sect or something.

P.S- "But-But..Lots of scientists have been Christian!" and "Lots of Christians support evolution!" answers will be reported for being completely irrelevant.

Jessky that's all real wonderful...But my question had absolutely nothing to do with the Big Bang...At all. I never even mentioned it.

An evolutionist is simply an individual who sees and accepts the merits of evolution. It does not imply a religious belief as some might want you to think.

Yes, evolution is a secular religion that requires faith. We all know that there are over 250 breeds of dog in the world. That is an undeniable fact. It's provable. However, if you try to take it a step further and say that the dog and the cat had a common ancestor, when there is absolutely no proof of that, either in the lab or in the fossil record, then it has just left the realm of science and moved into FAITH. It requires a great deal of faith to believe that the dog and the cat had a common ancestor, when it flies in the face of science and logic. And the fact that scientists hold to something that is so unprovable so dogmatically, makes it their RELIGION.

Hey, take it easy on the flagging people! We have too much of that already!
I accept evolution as fact because I find science to be a more reliable predictor of phenomena in nature than religion. So... I guess I agree with you.
I think that Evolutionist as a term comes from people trying to differentiate between creationists and those who accept the current scientific paradigm. Many Christians accept science, so long as it doesn't disagree with the Bible, so we can't just say "people who agree with science" or whatever.
You're obviously upset at religious people comparing your views on reality to theirs as being merely "points of view". Well, that's because they disagree with you. Those of us who know better know that evolution is not a religion--let it lie there. Nothing else you can do.

I like your point, its a very very very good one, thumbs up!
Now, I'm going to tear the core of your point to peices while using your very point.
You are saying that things we can see/touch/feel are proven, well, good point. So if we were sitting there watching a computer be made, we would know conclusively that it was in fact made.
Ok, good point.
So, were you there?
When the universe and everything else was created or when it came into being?
Were you there watching the spinning dot, that came from nothing?
Then how can you, with good concience, tell me it's a fact, comperable to that of the computer I'm typing on being made?
Today there are 7 types of evolution, 6 of which have to do with the big bang the other is micro evolution.
Today we have proof of 1 kind of evolution, micro evolution.
So, I admit to micro evolution being true.
Have you ever seen any of the other types of evolution?
There you go, I hope you enjoyed that, thanks for making it so easy.
Feel free to email,
Jessica

Its a word Christians invented to try to disparage Evolution. They're trying to turn it into a belief system instead of a science. They're kind of acting like whiney 5 year olds that aren't getting their way.
